HĂŽtel historique prĂšs de Salle omnisports Moda Center
There are 2 restaurants on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. Public spaces have free WiFi. A 24-hour fitness center, a library, and a vending machine are also featured at the historic Heathman Hotel. Parking is available for a fee.
I have chosen this hotel base on Forbes travel guide. It described it has a eco-chic historic hotel and luxury hotel. However it seems that things have changed since this article was published⊠The staff is friendly but it is not the kind of welcome/presentation that you would expect from a âluxuryâ hotel. For example, the âvaletâ welcomes you in t-shirt, sport shorts and adidas sneakers⊠no name tag and not knowing what is the maximum height of its parking! The staff at the front desk (mostly teenager) also dress 'causual and lean on desk and wall. The overall impression of our arrival is a clear lack of etiquette for a âluxuryâ hotel. Also, the lobby looks more like a grocery store than a hotel. The room itself was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom is however tiny, you cannot be 2 persons in it and even alone, you need to squeeze yourself to reach the sink. The restaurant is closed and there is no bar ⊠so there is absolutely no atmosphere or ambiance there. The neighborhood is ok for what Portland seems to have become ⊠huge number of homeless people and drug addict injecting themselves in front of everybody!
We love the Heathman. We stay there whenever we attend a show at the Arlene Schnitzer theater (right next door). Easy valet parking, welcome beverage at check in, clean and quiet rooms with interesting views. The restaurant is excellent as well.
The bathroom was so small it was difficult to close the bathroom door while on the toilet. The table in the room fell apart and I had to call maintenance to come and fix it. Later they entered the room to put the table back without our permission.
The room itself was great. The food was basic. But yet again, we got over charged from what we were pre-booked on hotels.com. I wonât stay there again
The room being advertised as an affordable, reasonable price.. then ending up being shy or $300 for the worst experience EVER. Obviously we expect some deposit and fees but $300 up front and you offer NOTHING for the guest. Zero amenities, accommodation, nothing. Breakfast? No. Non-valet PARKING?? Nope. Street parking or park a block or so down the street, and pay for that separately. Insane this is even normalized. Rather stay in my car than ever do this again. Literally want my hard-earned money back.
