Great Place To Stay Downtown

Pros: Proximity to Fremont Street, the food, the staff, the rooms
Cons: Get rid of your new resort fee policy
Location: Great downtown location, close to the Neon Museum, the Mob Museum,Fremont Street and a quick car ride to the Strip
I stayed at Main Street Station for a week and plan to stay there again next time im in Las Vegas. It's a short walk to everything downtown. The food is great, the rooms are clean and the staff friendly. There are lots of gaming options and an on-site car rental company. Its a quick car ride to anything on the strip and just two blocks from the Fremont Street Experience.

Thank you for your feedback. Next time, just give the front desk a call and we'll send up an engineer to take a look at the ac. Sorry that it didn't work properly.

Several months ago when I booked and paid for my stay, Main Street Station was one of the few Las Vegas hotels that didn't charge a resort fee. In the ensuing months they enacted the fee. When I checked in recently I was told that I would not have to pay the resort fee, but still have the privileges of no-charge wi-fi and parking, which is the fair and honorable thing to do. When I checked out I was hit with an unexpected $9.99 wi-fi charge even though during my stay, three different employees at the hotel desk assured me I would not be charged for wi-fi. The room and bed were comfortable but I needed ear plugs to sleep because of the incessant freeway noise on the north side of the hotel. I requested to be changed to a room on the south side and they were very accommodating in letting me move, where the view is much better but there is some noise from the Fremont Street Experience and passing trains, but still preferable to the north side. The slat blinds in the rooms are a nice touch. The parking garage was in run-down condition, especially the elevator. In spite of the problems, there are many good things about Main Street Station. It is conveniently located and the buffet is very good. But the best things are the employees, who were all very friendly and helpful and the incredible collection of antiques throughout the property. There is even a restored Pullman train car. Very classy! And where else can you see a piece of the Berlin Wall while using the lavatory facilities

Nick, thank you for your feedback and sorry for any miscommunication you encountered regarding wifi access. We do offer free 1mbs wifi included in the resort fee and a 10mbs option for $9.99 per day. When you reach the wifi landing page, you choose either the no additional charge "hotel guest" option or "enhanced" and must agree to the daily fee.

Very nice staff and rooms. Buffet was delicious and staff friendly. Parking is a bit confusing and now there will be the Las Vegas Resort fees at this hotel. What a shame.
