The hotel is quite expensive for the quality it offers. For such a price I would expect a very nice, cozy room, not a simple average decoration. One big advantage is its location in the very centre of Madrid.

I absolutely loved Hotel Moderno. It was in a fabulous location, so close to shops, restaurants and other places of interest. The staff were friendly and check in was prompt and easy. The breakfast area was clean and organized and the food was varied, fresh, and appealing. This will be the first hotel I consider when I return to Madrid!

The only positive aspect of Hotel Moderno is its excellent location. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was far from satisfactory. The room had no functional temperature control—while there was a label instructing guests to call reception for adjustments, the telephone in the room didn’t work. Additionally, the room had an unpleasant sewerage smell, making the stay quite uncomfortable. Given these issues, I would not stay here again.

Fantastically situated on a corner of Plaza del Sol metres from the metro station with great communications. Our room was scrupulously clean with adequate storage for a few days stay. Our room at the rear was fantastically quiet. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our only beef was insufficient power sockets -we could only locate one!!
