This was Monterrey Car Week, the premier opportunity to squeeze as much out of the public as possible. The Room rate, at 308/night was a bargain compared to others if you could get a room. As the clerck said, it will be back to $60 in 2 weeks. This was a room for handicapped. The bed was large, and clean, 2 end tables with no lamps, only overhead spot lights. The mirror was leaning up against the wall. At least the TV worked. I write this taking into account the circumstances and the fact that hotel rooms on the fly where rare so it was a better option than sleeping in the car. The location along a main highway makes it convenient for attending different events in the area. No issues with the AC although the bathroom could use a drain in the floor as the shower has maybe a half inch height from the floor. One gets the feeling that this room was thrown together to take advantage of the additional income it would provide during the event. It would be a good idea if the the town made sure thar rental properties had some minimum standard. It relflects badly on the event, in this Monterrey car week and the area overall. Being taken advantage of, even if one can afford it.
