First off, I travel often and have stayed at alot of iffy hotels in iffy areas for much less than I paid for this room. $140 before fees and taxes to be exact. This hotel really takes the cake as far as a place that I would never stay at again. I was warned by my friends who live in Salinas that Kern Street was shady but I guess I didn't really pay that much mind until I saw the security officer patrolling the parking lot. I also had to fully document my car and my friend had to present her ID at check in along with my own (I suppose to ensure that we were the only two staying in the room?) According to them, there had been a prostitution bust on this site not too long before we came to stay. Shady, yes but I could still look past it for a comfy night sleep. I understand and appreciate the security measures even though their presence set off some alarm bells and I cant blame a hotel for who stays there. Im grateful they have measures to try to keep guests safe. There wereamenities in the room so dont expect them. No microwave, no fridge, not even a coffee pot. I have paid less than $140 for other hotel rooms in busier ty settings and have ATLEAST had a coffee pot available. Now down to the nitty gritty... The cleanliness of the room: Filthy doors. Semen on nightstand. Dried food under bed. No drain plug in bathtub. Black mold around doors and fire sprinkler. Dried blood/snot/fluid on walls. Massive wad of wet toilet paper stuck to ceiling, spitwad style.

No thanks once is enough

I haven't checked into a hotel/motel that offers one pillow per guest with no tissues, no small shampoo and three towels only for 4 guests. The beds were hard, squeaky and old. I would expect Motel 6 regular rate for what I paid but because it was a holiday weekend I spent triple that for the same horrid experience. I would say you get what you pay for but not in this circumstance, as we got far far less.

Blankets thin and noise

Check in and check out was quick and easy. Bed blankets were very thin. Noise outside room from other hotel guests talking during night hours was loud and prevented sleep.

Poor service

I checked in on Friday, June 27. First the tv wasn't working. I called front desk and they said no maintenance person till Saturday and then mold in the shower. No maintenance came Saturday to work on the tv so we had no tv from Friday to Sunday when we checked out.

Cheap room, cheap amenities

I was here for 5 nights. Ice machine broken the whole week. The AC/heat unit in the room did not work. No tissue paper in room. Bath tub had multiple patch jobs on it. When I asked for new towels, they had me go to their laundry room and get it myself. A few good things, they had a security guard at night. Inexpensive room. Gave out a parking pass to make sure you were staying there.
