They did not have real beds, they were a sheet of plywood with a thin matress on the top. The chair in the room was falling apart with most of the upholstery crumbling off of it. Our toilet clogged and they came to check. They didn't fix it. Instead they brought us a used dirty plunger that had dried toilet paper a feces on it. There were people staying in their cars in the parking lot. There was were people smoking on their balconies and filled our room with a thick smell of marijuana.

Clean and room was in good condition. The sheets were so soft. 3rd floor was a good location but no lift.Stairwells were not very clean. Smelled of smoke and it wasn't tobacco! Satisfied overall.

This is my second year staying at the Sand Dollar for Monterey Car Week. It is clean, well-maintained, quiet (unlike some of the extravagantly expensive hotels in downtown Monterey with noisy cars showing off at all hours of the night) and has enough nearby solid and reasonably priced places to eat. I think anyone can stay here with confidence.

Place was dirty.... very run down and not clean.... see pictures... bed not changed... hair still on and in the bed... hair on the outside of tub... just very unsanitary and unclean...

Properly looks unsafe/ sketchy type of people there. Limited supplies in room. I asked for extra towels & they didn’t even have any on site. The bed was fine but the room overall was pretty bad.
