Escape to "The Retreat," a beautifully updated historic beach cottage in the heart of Pacific Grove, offering an AMAZING LOCATION that puts you steps from everything! Originally built in 1908 within the charming Pacific Grove Retreat, this home blends rich history with every modern convenience for a cozy, comfortable, and unforgettable getaway. Pacific Grove STR #0084.

Step inside to an inviting open floor plan where the living room seamlessly flows into the fully stocked kitchen. Relax by the huge gas fireplace, enjoy your favorite shows on the Smart Samsung TV with streaming apps, and take in the abundant natural light from the soaring ceilings and skylights. The dining room opens directly to a private deck, creating an incredible indoor-outdoor living experience. Here, you'll find an outdoor living room with another huge gas fireplace, an outdoor eating area, BBQ, and for ultimate relaxation, a hot tub and outdoor shower.

Upstairs, a spacious living room loft provides additional comfortable seating, another Smart Samsung TV, and a third gas fireplace. Need to catch up on some work? An adjustable standing desk is also available.

The home features two comfortable bedrooms on the first floor, each with a queen bed. The master bathroom offers a bathtub shower, while the second bathroom boasts a luxurious steam shower.

You'll rent directly from the owner, ensuring personalized communication with me and my local house manager. I love sharing my home with guests eager to experience all that Pacific Grove has to offer.

You simply can't beat this location! Everything you desire is within easy reach: stroll to downtown for charming restaurants and shops, or head to Lovers Point Beach for sun and sea. The Pacific Grove Golf Course is nearby, and the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium and historic Cannery Row are just a mile away on the scenic beach trail. Day trips to Carmel for shopping, Pebble Beach for golfing, or Big Sur for breathtaking hikes are all easy drives. Or, simply stay in and unwind in the hot tub, read a book by a cozy fire, and truly relax.

Please note: The Pacific Grove Retreat is a historic, close-knit neighborhood. While we want you to fully enjoy your stay, this property is not suitable for parties. We strictly observe the guest maximum of 4 and strive to be good neighbors by maintaining a peaceful environment. This was a perfect stay. The home is cute, in a historical district that makes it even more interesting. The outdoor fireplace was so much fun to sit around after a long day of activities. The hot tub helped sooth some sore muscles. And the location was perfect, close to walking trails along the shore and close enough to walk to dinner at night. Communication with owner was timely and she was very helpful We Loved this stay!!!

The home was beautiful and in a great historic quiet neighborhood close to walk to the beach and nearby shops and restaurants. Home was clean, well stocked if you wanted to cook, and we also appreciated having coffee beans, pods, and cream and sugar. We slept in comfortable beds with greatest Temperpedic pillows in the world. Host and home manager were responsive. We really enjoyed our retreat and look forward to returning.

Our first stay in this house was 13 years ago, when we visited PG for a month. Everything about the house is terrific. Very cozy and fully equipped. The back porch and fireplace make every evening an event. The location, though, can not be beat if you like to park your car and walk to everything PG and Monterey have to offer. Enjoyed an exquisite stay at Margaret's impeccable home in the 'Retreat'. House was exceptionally clean, super comfy, had abundant natural light and all the modern conveniences you could wish for. My best friend and I celebrated many years of our friendship by exploring Pacific Grove, Monterey, Carmel, Pt. Lobos and the never ending beauty of the area. We loved being able to walk a block to a wonderful walk path along the beach and coastline, and a block in the other direction to the shops and restaurants lining the downtown area. It was sublime. The owner Margaret and house manager Frank were easy to reach if needed. In every way possible, this was the perfect house in the perfect location ... and quite honestly one I can't wait to return to again.
