Giant hairball in shower, floor didnt feel clean. Dont even get me started on the restaurant. Dont even bother with breakfast.. no orange juice, no apple juice, no iced tea, no hashbrowns. Server was more interested in hanging out with other staff at the hotel check desk than tending to tables. Never again for this place.

Super nice hotel with amazing staff and service but with a few growing pains. The hotel is very nicely decorated, our room was large and clean. Bed was comfortable and staff were all very warm & welcoming. We had a few minor issues but they were dealt with immediately (curtains wouldn’t close & room cleaning mixup) and we were well taken care of in both situations. The bar/restaurant has such potential but needs some good management and attention. Again staff there were a pleasure to deal with.

Parking. 32.00 is steep when you are paying price for room. Booked thru third party which I didn’t know I did. Tv didn’t work. Called desk. Sent two guys up. First one had no idea what to do. Sent second guy who stated he was housekeeping. Took tv off wall and never came back. My husband fixed t.v. As it sat on counter.

Good value with some caveats

Stayed here for the week of July 4 2025. The good: close to CMU/UPitt, walking distance to good restaurants and Target, large clean room, huge bathroom. The not-so-good: only valet parking, street parking during the weekdays works fine but impossible on the weekends, hotel is on a very dilapidated block and on the border between a homeless neighborhood and an upscale neighborhood, expensive breakfast with little selection and poor service, series of weird room issues- bed frame issues, curtain issues, TV issues, door sticking issues, missing wall pictures, wonky shower controls, etc. Our general impression was that it was a hotel trying to look upscale but reluctant to invest in staff and maintenance. For a hotel close to CMU it is probably the best price, but you will get a very eclectic experience.

I was really looking forward to doing something different especially because it was my husband's 50th birthday.When I called to confirm the online reservation and to make sure that parking and breakfast was included (I know the call wasn't needed but sometimes mistake can be made and I wanted to be thorough). I spoke to a representative and he insured me breakfast was included. We headed upstairs to check in to a room that reeked of smoke! It seems someone had tried to cover the smell but it was very strong there was a lamp we needed for light and it had no light bulb the window was open when we walked in the rooql9m I've never been to a hotel where the window was open or lefted open very strange. Clean, friendly and a good breakfast. What i didn't like was the queen bed seemed like a double bed. I have a queen bed and can fit 3 children and me, their queen was fitting my daughter and me and we were against one another

Nice staff, however the rooms smelled like mildew. . I was originally on the third floor, and they placed me on the second because of stains on the pillow pillows and the room having mildew, but the second room also smelled like mildew, and then the door wouldn’t lock if you didn’t slam it so before I left the room each time I had to slam the door and then tried to reopen it, which I was able to three times before the door actually locked. . The shower was great except water kept leaking out of the shower onto the floor and I had to use extra towels to clean it up then no one came to give me new towels or make my bed the next day and I did not have my do not disturb sign up.. . If it wasn’t for the staff being so kind, I would’ve given a 2

This is a well located and fairly priced place, but I would never stay here again. It's dreary and dirty everywhere--the rooms, the gym, the "restaurant." The breakfast that I paid extra for was inedible and just weird. The first time I walked in (at 7:30 am, when I was the only person in the place), they said they were basically out of everything, and they served me a cold cup of coffee. I went one more time and what they served was too greasy to even attempt. We asked several times to have our empty body wash filled, but it never happened. The worst part is that the day after we checked in, I had to cancel my credit card due to numerous fraudulent charges. I can't prove it was the front desk clerk, but it seems suspicious that he's the only person I handed my credit card to in recent memory. I would never stay in this place again at any price. Avoid!

If you’re thinking about getting the additional breakfast, don’t even bother. The kitchen staff are horrible and don’t wanna do their jobs. Don’t waste your time sitting there and just go get food somewhere else.
