If I knew they have humidity issues (and mold) I wouldnât have stayed here. As soon as you walk in the door you can smell it in the front desk. Then, the first room we got assigned, was even worse. We couldnât stay more than 10min in it. We asked to be moved and the front desk agent help us without a problem, he was super nice!
The rooms are very basic: no bedside lamps, no trash can, no hangers in the closet area... A fridge would also be nice. I wouldnât come back
Good property. Only about a 10 minute drive from the city centre but 40 min walk, So either be prepared to get at least 10,000 steps everyday or take out extra pesos to catch taxis. Right across the street from centro maya(strip mall) and thereâs an otto right down the street (2min walk). Never felt unsafe walking alone at night.
The Hotel Ambra is a mixed pla e for me. The staff and their willingness to be of assistance was excellent. I liked them very much. They worked hard to keep a very clean hotel. Kudos for that. However, in three days I was in three different rooms because of an odor/scent that was pervasive in each room. The second room had ants galore, enen in and on the bed. The third room produced the worst night of sleep I can ever remember having. The bed and pillows just did not work for me. Despite having paid for a full weeks stay, I left on day three because I could not bear to subject my body and mind to another night of torcher. I liked the people but hated the rooms.
