Room #15. Multiple times key code didn’t initially work to enter room as well as front door to the hotel. Bathroom was freezing never warmed up. Multiple bins from restaurant right outside room windows meant an early wake up call from the garbage truck. Had a personal item missing after valet. Staff denied of course, manager apologized and thanked me for bringing items to her attention.

Room was smaller than we thought by the pics. Place was cute and clean. A few annoyances. Toilet paper roll kept falling off holder. Needed to be fixed or replaced. Pillows were not very comfortable. No support. Its a little noisy at times with the traffic and people talking on the street where the restaurant is. It was in a good location to the downtown area. Easy to walk to. Right next door to the Library Restaurant which is where we had dinner. Easy to check in and out. Overall good experience . I would recommend this place😊

This was our first stop of our trip and Portsmouth is such a cute little New England town. Hotel Thaxer was a perfect palce to stay. Right near downtown and very walkable to local shops, resturants, and emtertainment. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was updated and very comfortable. Highly recommend.
