Very nice property. Seems new. The area feels safe. I would give this a solid 4 except for the staff, the lady at the desk was not friendly or welcoming at all. We had to wait at least 5-minutes before she showed up to greet us. She got the job done but definitely needs some work on her people skills.

There was vomit on the pool deck. When I reported it, the counter said they "would let the next shift deal with it." Equipment in the fitness center was poorly maintained and inaccurate. Televisions wouldn't change channels in room or fitness center. A sad example of poor maintenance and lack of attention to details.

We always like Hampton Inn but one small beef this time the tissue box in the bathroom had only 4 tissues in it.

Good desk staff, but both the room a/c unit and refrigerator in the room were noisy, especially the a/c. Loud enough to compromise a good nights sleep. I shut down the a/c in the middle of the second night. Should have done so on the first night. Takeoff noise from RIC from 0600 on. Shower sliding door also needed replacement. An effort to open and close. Overall, not up to the standard I have experienced at other Hampton Inns. We will try another hotel near RIC next time.
