Not happy cause they lost my reservation.

We were there for nascar weekend. Everything is completely booked. and this hotel had lost our reservations. which were paid in full. And what is all they could say to me is sorry nothing we can do we are fully booked.

The worst experience

I was not allowed to stay there because they don't take any third party reservations. They just didn't honor my reservation. O no I just repeated myself, but, it really wasted my time. A young lady from your hotels made it her business to get me in a room for the night. BIG congrats to her in representing Hotels.com company! She also told me that I will be getting a $100.00 credit or coupon to use at any hotel. So, I will be looking in my email shortly for it as well as this one.

Awful

First, Econolodge in Sandston does not accept 3rd party reservations and so there was no reservation waiting when I arrived. The hotel clerk told me that while there were rooms available, she advised me to not stay in the hotel -- it wasn't quiet, not particularly safe and not suitable for my sister and I. She also told me that I needed to cancel the reservation through Expedia and get refunded through Expedia -- finding another room in the area that night proved difficult as almost all hotels were booked. Finding an alternative cost me double.

Worst stay ever

I reserved a non-smoking room I got to the hotel not only to find out that there were no non-smoking rooms left but also that it was in the sketchiest neighbourhood I have ever been in. The rooms were not very clean, the door was hard to lock. I was very disappointed in this hotel.

awful,mess

well, first the door was hard to open, room had bad odor,dead bug in bathroom ,blood spot on towels all didn't look like they were clean, t.v. would keep going out had to hit it to keep it on , no iron in room had to go to local store to buy air fresher, lislol , incence ect. all I have to say you get what pay for and not your mom and dad's hotel, not good enough for homeless awful, just awful.

There are better options for a little more $

This hotel seemed a little dodgy, but about what you would expect for the price. We ended up arriving in RIC really late. After paying for the cab (the ride is more expensive after 11pm) and the room, we could have stayed someplace a bit nicer with a shuttle for the same amount. The door to the bathroom didn't close all the way. And the room felt musty. The lady at the front desk the next morning was very friendly and called a cab for us. We appreciated her helpfulness.

Stay somewhere else.

No ironing boards. The iron I had to get from the front desk. No hangars in the closet. Very, very spartan. Oh yeah, the next morning, I found a broken glass jar next to my left front wheel with gaping slits in my sidewalls. The Expedia folks told me there'd be a continental breakfast. There was not. Not a fan of this hotel or this neighborhood. Spend the extra 20.00 and sleep secure. The only bright spot seemed to be the desk attendants who sympathetically provided me what they could--though they seemed to know it wasn't much. I will not stay here ever again.

Not Fit For a Dog to Stay In

Dirty sheets, hole bath room door, hole in top of fridge, shower and bath room floor dirty, paint or porclain peeling off tub, feces on the wall and shower curtain (didn't get to close but it was brown) under side of toilet seat yellow, fridge and micro wave yellow from age and dirt, carpet dirty and i haven't got to the outside. People sitting outside of their rooms on fold up lounge chairs like they were home, with their room doors open and televisions blasting. All this to place when i checked in 11pm.

Dreadful Place to Stay

The room stunk. Not enough towels. no outlets to plug in hair dryer etc. the outlets that were there the plugs kept falling out. Honestly as far as cleanliness I was afraid of bedbugs. Either no bulbs in lights or they were blown. Honestly it was disgusting and that's being polite. It was a horrible experience. I paid for 2 rooms and it's hard pressed to say which one was the better room.

there are plenty of hotels close to this one that are much nicer and look cleaner for the same price, had to sleep w my clothes on and the shower was really dirty in the all 3 rooms we used

No frills motel

This is a definite no frills motel. The beds were comfortable and everything worked fine. There was no shampoo, etc in the shower and nothing was plugged in when I arrived causing me to figure out why none of the lights worked. The breakfast is literally donuts and coffee. If you just need a soft bed, go for it. If you're staying more than one night, I'd find something a little more comfortable.

What an unpleasant experience. I felt so uncomfortable staying in this hotel room that I slept wearing my clothes on. There were small flies in the room and the paint in the walls was peeling off.

Hotel VA by airport

Horrible!!! Worse hotel I've ever seen or had the unpleasure of dealing with. Drug/prostitute hotel. Very dirty, holes in walls, people coming and going. Tried to cancel and get a refund and wad told that the empires wasn't. Authorized to do refunds so I had to come back tomorrow at 9 am. They knew i had a flight at 6:05 am and couldn't be there to talk to the manager. Ended up walking to the hotel ( days inn) next door and stayed the night there. It's was wonderful but the bath tub was dirty as well. Just not a good area of town to stay in at all.

Unacceptable

The bathroom was unacceptable. The tub/shower lacked a complete finish. Carpet was full of stains. People who appear to live there hanging over balcony. We actually didn't even stay there. We left immediately, although we did pay for the room as it was guaranteed. We didn't ask for a better room as it was clear that there couldn't possibly be one. We were afraid to have our dogs stay there for fear of catching something. Although the room appeared cleaned up it was dingy to say the most. Bed spreads hadn't been cleaned in many years.

You would think the amount charged the lock and chain on the door would work. Actually there was no place on the side of the door to chain it. I know you use a card to get in and out. But the room was just so tacky. Also the water in the shower leaked and the knob was hard to cut on and off. I guess you get what you pay for comes in play but I value every penny.

Needs Help

Staff - friendly. Linens - clean. Room had a TV, fridge, and microwave. Room also had a hole in the wall which looked like someone had punched it, red stains on a very worn carpet, the shower didn't work, the toilet was not secured to the floor, the room smelled, the dressers were old, stained and worn out. It looks like someone purchased the hotel and is doing their best, but hasn't updated anything (other than the sheets and pillows) since 1970-80 something. Great location for the airport or racetrack. Just expect an odor, facilities that do not work, and an uncomfortable night's sleep. If upgrades were made, I'd consider staying again. However, until major renovations are completed, I'd spend the extra 20 bucks to stay across the street.

Econo Lodge in Sandston Virginia

Overall it was a nice stay. The only problems we had were that it could have been vaccuumed better, and the rooms smelled stuffy. They could use a little freshening.
