Decently clean but very dated. Small rooms with bleached and stained carpets. Comfortable mattresses, working tv, not much else. Breakfast was terrible, basically non-existent and there were ants in the juice. Staff were ambivalent. Location is about the one good thing about this place- lots of grocery stores and a good selection of restaurants nearby, right on State Street. But overall, will not stay again.

So glad they don’t charge for parking. It’s an old building, but very well maintained. Beds were comfortable. Shower temp fluctuated, maybe due to simultaneous use of sink by partner (?). Very pleasant stay not far from. UCSB and the beach.

We selected the Sandpiper based on reviews, location to the airport & price. Check-in was easy and there was someone there to take our keys when we checked out at 3:30 am! The room was clean & comfortable. The mattress was comfortable. Appreciated the small round table with two chairs and the upholstered chair to relax. TV was easy to use. Liked being able to park right in front of our downstairs room to unload & load our suitcases. Felt safe. Is conveniently located to multiple restaurants (we ate at Harry’s Plaza Cafe) and a shopping mall with Chaucer’s Book Store and a grocery store. Three other perks are a pool, an elevator and included breakfast. If we need another Santa Barbara hotel, we would definitely stay here again.

The room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved the pool and hot tub also. I liked how the bathroom was set up with the sink and mirror and a separate large space.

The Sandpiper Lodge exceeded my expectations. The rooms are big and clean and comfortable and it was quieter than I would've thought, considering it was fully booked. Sean the manager was a true gentleman and he gave me many tips and helped me out by booking other nights I had not considered. It's within walking distance of many convenient places, and the bus stop is pratically in front.
