Nice hotel

Cons: Noisy
We had a village room that we could hear everyone walking and talking in the hallways, so the rooms are not soundproof .if you are a light sleeper it's hard to sleep. The rooms are good ,ours had a gas fireplace.,tiles are worn.staff attentive and friendly.easteregg hunt was fun for the kids.no wifi in room.

Heaven is a bit pricey

Pros: Quiet, excellent restaurants
Bacara lived up to it's stellar reputation, despite the amount of construction going on. I would definitely stay here again. Got a partial ocean-view room and it was wonderful. Very quiet and peaceful. Can't wait to return!

Exceeded Expectations

My husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway, and this resort was gorgeous. The resort is definitely secluded from touristy attractions, so unless you plan on driving a ways away, plan to hang out at the resort. I had high expectations of the resort (rooms, landscaping, layout, ocean view) because of the pictures on their website, and I was very pleasantly surprised when I got there that what I was seeing was even better than the pictures. Since we took the train, we arrived hours before the check in time. The food at Spa Cafe was okay, but the Bistro was amazing, food, service, and the view. There was a wedding that weekend, so unfortunately, Miro was closed. The entire property was well maintained. Our tub stopper didn't work, and the maintenance staff completed the repair within about 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort is very hilly, so they have lots of service carts to take you around the resort should you decide not to take the scenic stroll. This resort is pricey, but I believe that what you get is well worth the cost. We will definitely be back to this resort.

Extraordinary property, great service. Handicap accessibility was an issue.

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
We truly enjoyed our stay. The property is breathtaking. The hotel's employees were always happy to assist in what ever way they could. The physical geography that made the resort so wonderful made for difficult wheel chair travel. Though the staff would be happy to transport you on the electric carts that were available, arranging for that assistance took the spontaneous nature of a walk/ride around the grounds out of play.

If you want the ultimate treatment and have money to spend, stay here.

Pros: Quiet, near ucsb
I've never spent this much money on a place to stay, but I've never stayed at such a nice place. I needed a hotel for one night for UCSB graduation weekend....which is almost impossible to get. All the usual suspects wanted a minimum 2 or 3 nights to have a room. So I bit down hard and reserved a night here figuring if I was going to pay the equivilant elsewhere and couldn't use the extra nights, why not splurge and enjoy it. Turned out to be a very good decision. The 'compound' is awesome. The staff is amazingly attentive.

Love it, they were doing construction when we were there but it was lovely. You feel like your some place else. Very relaxing and beautiful views. If I am coming to this area, I always check at Bacara first!
