Cottonwood Courts is charming, inexpensive and just a simple place to stay when visiting Santa Fe. I hope no one ever buys it, destroys all the character and paints it white, grey, and black.
The best I can say is that it is what it is. It's an old, cheap (except not actually as cheap as it should be) motel in a random, not great spot. I had multiple people's hair and pubes on the sheets and unwashed makeup stains. The bathroom seemed clean though.
I would not go back.
The Cottonwood Court motel was a wonderful refuge for me and my little girl. Jackie welcomed us very kindly at reception. The room was secure, quiet, and Immaculate, with a big comfortable bed, and a fridge and microwave - very handy. The old beams at the top of the room are beautiful, and allowed me to explain that feature of old Santa Fe construction. Six stars!
Room was clean, but very small. Air conditioner kept street noise out. Second night the water was shut off due to broken pipe in adjoining unit. Ok for the price.
I enjoyed the charming New Mexico adobe architecture and viga ceilings, the vintage route 66 vibes. The location is convenient to walk to the popular The Pantry restaurant but on a busy street. I also enjoyed sitting on the porch chairs outside to watch the sunset. The family rooms have two seperate bedrooms which was nice for our family of four. The room was very clean even though it's an older building. We'd stay here again.
