We were drawn to this hotel for its very authentic "old-world" charm and fantastic location. The atmosphere is indeed unique, and for guests who value historic character, this will do the trick. That said, we found the room small and awkwardly laid out, which made for an uncomfortable extended stay. ( We had originally booked for two nights, but left a day early due to the awkwardness.). The bathrooms are outdate and additionally awkward. The sink was located in the bedroom, whilst the commode and tub were tightly fitted together in tight quarters. Unfortunately, this led us to leave early, as the rooms felt confining with little space to relax beyond the beds. We also found the staff less than welcoming and were surprised by a proposed fee for an early check-in. During summer months , the outdoor seating might be enjoyable, but for winter stays, it doesn’t offer a comfortable alternative. The hotel advertised breakfast included; however, what was provided was limited to a small tea/coffee station with pre-packaged muffins, which was disappointing compared to expectations set by the description. Overall, while the hotel has "historic charm" and a prime location, it may not suit travelers looking for spacious, comfortable rooms or full-service amenities.

The room was very comfortable and spacious! Its like a boutique hotel in the heart of Santa Fe! The pizza was excellent which we ordered at the bar. I love the hotel provide K- cup coffee and coffee and snack at the lobby! I will stay at the hotel Chimayo again!!

Overall good experience. The hotel staff were nice and helpful. The onsite parking garage was a total plus. The rooms were clean, but felt like they could use a bit updating. The location of the hotel was excellent.

Room was clean and met our needs. Walls are paper thin as others have mentioned. Location was great. Too many hidden charges - I have authorizations for 30 dollars a day plus a final charge of 129 for what? I don't know because I was never emailed a receipt so now I have to call them to find out. With so many better options in downtown Santa Fe we won't be staying here again.

Room was beautiful and comfortable! The pillows were the best I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, very helpful. We loved the bar and the convenience of having a restaurant just downstairs. The entire building was beautiful and very authentic to Santa Fe.
