Everything was good except for a couple of issues. Some of the towels had markings on them. Also, parking was not reliable. We had to park offsite for two of the four nights there as the underground car park was full. I didn’t like having to move the car early in the mornings.

I stayed at Meriton Suites for six nights, expecting five-star standards. Instead, I experienced a deeply distressing breach of safety and trust. On our final night, while packing, I discovered a syringe in our room. I was travelling with my young daughter, making this discovery not only horrifying but completely unacceptable. The presence of such a hazardous item in a “cleaned” room reflects a serious failure in housekeeping and a clear breach of Meriton’s duty of care to its guests. The situation was made worse by management’s dismissive response. While the incident was acknowledged, I was told there was “no direct risk.” This showed a concerning lack of empathy and accountability. Whether capped or not, a syringe in a guest room is a significant safety risk. We requested a refund and a goodwill gesture due to the distress caused. Both were declined, with no meaningful effort to make things right. I sincerely hope Meriton re-evaluates how it handles such serious incidents and takes real action to ensure guest safety and duty of care are never compromised in the future.

Despite the description of the room booked stating it was wheelchair accessible and had a roll in shower and us specifying in the booking request that we require wheelchair access, the room was not accessible. The bathroom could not be accessed with a wheelchair and was inaccessible. At no point during check in or prior to arrival was this flagged with us. Despite annotating it on the reservation request and attending check in with my son who was in his wheelchair!
