Rooms were well kept and hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. Evening cocktails the hotel hosted were a wonderful way to rest before heading out for the evening. Hotel itself was perfectly located for everything we wanted to see and for easily accessible for arrival and departure travel via the metro.

An amazingly located hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. With easy walks from local transport and nearby attractions, it's a perfect choice for someone looking to explore. The hotel is also beautiful and steeped in local history. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, although the breakfast team needs to bump their awareness and speed somewhat as waiting 30 mins for the first coffee and cutlery is unacceptable. The buffet items are also often poorly stocked and overall the breakfast experience was a little oddly paced. Unfortunately, the property is also suffering from it's age and a lack of TLC. Small things such as leaky showers, poorly grouted shower fixings and a plethora of dust bunnies and dusty throw pillows detract from the experience. More egregiously, the carpet is in dire need of a deep clean or outright replacing as it is stained and worn. Worse still, our corridor smelled of sewage our entire trip and whilst we were assured it was simply the canal, no where else in Amsterdam exhibited this. To their credit, we were offered an alternative room, but it would have been a downgrade and the room itself thankfully didn't smell (despite being right next to said canal!). In fact, our room was technically an 'upgrade' from what we had booked, except that I suspect the previous tennants complained enough about the smell to move. Also, make use of the pillow menu as their defaults are held together only by their communal inneptitude to provide ANY neck support.

This is the best hotel ive had the pleasure of being able to stay in its in a great location and has some beautiful views , the staff here are exceptional and really went out of their way to help me and ensure my stay at Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam was perfect , the staff were cheerful, friendly ,happy to help no matter what , we were greeted with a fresh glass of still or sparkling water and a hot towel for our hands upon arrival , our room was immaculate and kept pristine everday we were there , its in a great location to and all manor of shops restaurants, bars , cafes etc are within a no time at all walking distance I would reccomend anyone stay here , i certainly will be staying here again upon my next visit to Amsterdam

The Tivoli Doelen Hotel staff made our trip even more significant and memorable. They treat you like royalty there and truly seem to want to have conversations with you to learn about you. The hotel staff also helped us with finding the best canal tour and providing us information on the New Year’s Eve light show. Our room was always clean and well maintained. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was worth everything. The history of the hotel was also very fascinating. The picture I shared is from our bedroom window.

This was our second stay at this hotel. It is a superb, quality hotel, within easy walking distance of all the major sites in Amsterdam. The staff were charming and professional. The breakfast, in the dining room overlooking the canal, was excellent and we also enjoyed a dinner at the hotel. We have no hesitation in recommending this jewel.

Amazing location and beautiful hotel. The lobby is spectacular, the rooms are extremely well designed and the bathroom might be the best one I have experienced. Great breakfast buffet and the bartender is wonderful. Enjoyed the complimentary snack. There was a funky sewage smell just outside our rooms in the hallway that no amount of perfume could rid or mask. Perhaps it is time to change that carpet. Otherwise, truly wonderful stay and I would stay again.

Hello, I booked with Travelocity so I could get the Empress Suite which I booked and paid for. They let us know at the last minute we were not able to get that room and downgraded us to a regular suite. Everything was great about the hotel and the stay there, but nothing was offered (even the price difference) for changing the room on us. It was all as we were on our way to the hotel, so not much we could do. I was happy with everything else and would recommend to stay here. There was another customer who was experiencing the same issue while we were there.

The hotel is beautiful, inside and out. The building itself dates back to 1913. It is in a decent area, within 6-7 minutes walking distance to 2 trams that will get you to the main train station where you can transfer to other trams to get you around Amsterdam. We did not try the restaurant or bar, they just weren't our style. We stayed in a canal-facing room on the 1st floor (floor 0 is street level) and the view was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. A bit pricey, but so is everything else in Amsterdam.

I had decided to stay one extra day in Amsterdam spontaneously and decided to look for a room with a canal view. Hotel Tivoli came up and I booked immediately based on the photos I saw. What I ended up with exceeded any expectation of my day. The staff was so kind, the room was absolutely gorgeous, and it has absolutely been part of my favourite day this year. I am so grateful for their hospitality and would recommend anyone to stay there for any amount of time.
