The property was very beautiful and this was a great home base for our week in Edinburgh. It was a bit away from the city center so we did end up taking buses and taxis more than expected. Traffic in front of the house gets quite busy around lunchtime and supper. While housekeeping provided a steady supply of tea packets and granola bars, we did have to venture out for food. I didnât appreciate the cafe the guest house recommends but thankfully there were a lot of other options within walking distance. Guest house is beautiful and staff provided a very handy guestbook to ensure all questions are answered.
Place was clean, conveniently close to the Royal Mile to walking distance, lot of buses and transportation is available to major interest places. The house is beautiful and convenient parking in the rear. You get a code for the front doors and the room key is inside. They have fruit and maps available. The staff is amicable and helpful. Highly recommended.
The property was always neat and clean. The property staff paid attention to details and provided lots of helpful information about transportation, food options, and laundry services. The WiFi services were great and transportation stops were close by. Lovely and cozy guest house and the area around it.
Very clean, very nice and helpful staff. Quick check in, no issues. However room a bit small for the price. And very hot even with window open... It will not be good for hot summer days which are not very often in Scotland anyway. Overall very good experience.
I had a great stay at Grangeview, the room was exceptional and felt like it had recently been decorated. It was a great size and felt stylish and cosy. I was pleasantly surprised to find a dressing gown and slippers in the room which was a lovely extra touch on top of all the usual things. The guest house is in a more residential area which felt very relaxing but was only a short walk away from the royal mile. Itâs also a great base for exploring Holyrood park. Iâll most definitely stay again when Iâm next visiting Edinburgh.
Lovely location and beautiful newly decorated and furnished rooms. Very comfy bed! I travel away a lot and this is one of the nicest places I have stayed. So nice I booked a second week. Would highly recommend!
Louise was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay, and even let us keep our baggage at the property after checking out as our flight was later in the evening. The suite at the top floor had nice views. Thanks for having us!
Stayed here at the beginning and at the end of our trip. The place was okay but outdated. Also the building affected my partner's sinuses. Not sure why, his health usually is not sensitive like that. We didn't realize this until we stayed there a second time. The bathrooms attached to the rooms are useable but the shower and sink are very small. Also if someone flushes the toliet while another person showers, the water will run cold for a bit. We had stayed in two different rooms and had hot water issues with two separate bathrooms. The second/last time the water would go from boiling hot to ice cold continuously. No one was using the other bathroom at the time so must be something wrong with the shower itself. They do provide coffee and oatmeal in the room which was nice. There is also free parking in the back in case you have a car.
Visited Edinburgh with my daughter for an open day at the University. Location was ideal between the two campuses as well as close by to Arthurâs Seat, old town etc.
A lovely old building in a quiet neighborhood. The Edinburgh Marathon was the same weekend we were trying to get accommodations and the only room in this affordable lodging that was available was one with shared toilet and shower. We had a sink in our room though so that was great! The host was on site and actually insisted on carrying one of our bags up and down the two flights of stairs. The bananas and oranges at the front desk were very welcome! We expected to shared the toilet and shower but we had them to ourselves as it turned out.
