This was a great apartment. The location can't be beat! It was very comfortable and cozy. My only complaint is that they need to have a binder in the apartment with instructions on how to operate everything: electricity, turn on the hot water, turn on the heat, and operate the washer/dryer and dishwasher. Finding the unit was a little bit of a challenge, but the picture of the entry door to the building helped immensely. We had a great stay in this unit.
We slept in our clothes NO HEAT and No response from host!
The flat is cute and close to the mile It is up a steep alley way, so not good for people with mobility issues.
We immediately realized the instructions to turn on the boiler and heater were incorrect; (after calling we found out the switch is on the kitchen counter and not the bedroom closet). We turned on the boiler and the heat, and left for dinner. It was freezing when we returned, we assumed it just needed to heat up.
We contacted the host the next day, no heat and the tv stick wasnât connected and couldnât be accessed. We were told maintenance would be out. That evening our key stuck in the door but after several tries. It opened. day 3. No heat. Day four our key stopped working in the lock. We could not open the lock from outside. Called at 8am and was told they would send maintenance. We filmed a video as requested. We spent the entire day calling them. Afraid to leave as we were flying home and would not be able to get our belongings.
So if you like to sleep in all of your clothes in weather under 30 degrees (f) and possibly get your things locked inside, while having a non responsive management company this might be the place for you.
Itâs super cute but beware
Oh did I mention you canât get cell service inside and the WiFi is dodgy (itâs the area they canât fix that part )
Zero stars.
It was SO cold in the apartment! The heater did not work.
The sink has a problem. Water does not flow. It took the whole day till the water flew! So, it was like Swimmingpool!!!
Very little toilet papers provided for 5 people, it was sooooooo not enough!
Faucets in the toilet do not work properly!!!
Towels are very minimal!!!!
The kitchen is dirty, along with the fridge! Some of the kitchen utensils are in poor condition, it's time to replace the pans.
Very NOT satisfied for the money we paid! Not highly recommended at all!!! Even the location was good!
We so enjoyed our 3 weeks in this apartment! Even quarantining here for 2 weeks was totally doable! The location is absolutely perfect for exploring all of Edinburgh on foot. And the apartment is spacious and comfortable! it was wonderful for me, my husband and our 18 yr old daughter, and would be equally perfect if travelling with an infant or young child -- it is fully equipped for everything. The kitchen is LARGE by UK standards, and included everything we needed for 2 full weeks of preparing all of our own meals. And communication with the property owner and management was clear, simple and easy. It is also perfectly located for access to the University of Edinburgh. We were literally 500 feet from our daughter's university accomodations. We hope to return and stay here again!
Great location, very nice apartment, perfect experience in total! This worked out so well for our group! Steps from many things we wanted to see, do, or taste. Highly recommended!
The flat is in a great location and very roomy for 3 adults. However, it feels like you are staying in your cousin's college flat.
The toilet linked. Burned out light bulbs. Missing decor etc. Some of the radiators worked some didn't.
Most of our VRBO stays come with great detail on the area and information that is key to the flat. This one contained nothing of the sort so I will have to assume they are new to rentals?
Has promise but not there yet.
