Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The hotel itself has a very small elevator that doesn’t stop at every floor. And tons of stairs. Very small rooms. In the financial area so very busy during work hours and not as many food options.

Exceptional! Nice large room, large bathroom, comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast and friendly staff. So much nicer than a regular hotel! We loved our stay there. Easy to get to all the sites.

Generally a very pleasant stay

Beautiful, historic building. Reception was excellent, breakfast good, room very nice but tired in places, location great for exploring the City of London. The only negative was that housekeeping in the room was a bit hit and miss. On arrival the carpet appeared not to have been vacuumed, the safe was unusable and had to be reset by reception and one of the water glasses was removed and not replaced. But overall an enjoyable stay.

Stop looking and stay here!

This hotel and pub/restaurant are amazing! Everyone was kind, everything in the mini fridge in your room is included and so it an amazing breakfast in the restaurant before they open to non-hotel residents. The food was great and you get 10% off your meal any other time you visit the restaurant. I loved the history that is highlighted throughout the space. Highly reccomend!

Was only a brief one night stay but we were very impressed with the room (florin), the size and decor in particular. The bathroom was also a very good size with both a bath and separate shower. In our opinion, the room put other hotels to shame. The included breakfast served in the attached pub was also very enjoyable (particularly the black pudding, sausages and the creamy scrambled egg). Staff were very friendly. Location was good for us.

We Would Stay Again

We loved the history and how the hotel was modernized in a way that valued and maintained its history. The morning breakfast was always a nice way to start our day and sustain us until a late lunch/early dinner. The two women we interacted with at reception were always friendly and accommodating, as was the housekeeping crew. There isn’t a lot of touristy things to do, as it is in the old banking district. We were there for 2 weekends, and there wasn’t much open. However, we enjoyed the quieter setting, and there were tube stations within a 3-9 min walk.

Experience 2000 years of London history

After staying in Kensington, I decided to stay in the center of London, THE CITY, the Roman original. This hotel is in the heart of it all: close to the Tower, the Monument, the Bank, the Thames. It's above a gorgeous old pub (excellent breakfast included) and the room (Florin) is both spacious and quiet!

Beautiful view with robes and nice coffee station. Way more roomy than expected. High end toiletries and bedding and very comfortable beds. Super close to tourist destinations and/or public transport. Staff very accommodating for my spouses severe allergy. We really enjoyed our stay.

Brilliant find

Room was clean , bed comfortable with lovely touches like complimentary cold drinks , water and tea and coffee. Free breakfast was amazing would definitely book again. Location was central and only a very short walk to the underground.

We visited the Counting House for a three night stay. I’ve given the review five stars namely because the staff were fab. The room was spacious with everything you needed. Breakfast in the morning was great with excellent choices. Located within a short walk to St Paul’s and Millenium Bridge easy access to tubes to get to where you need to be. My criticism comes from a couple of niggles, namely noise! We stayed in the Angel room which is located next to the courtyard. Single glazed windows meant it felt like you sat next to the people socialising below. A wake up call at 6.50am by window cleaning was also an unnecessary wake up call Cleaning in the room needs to be stepped up, dirty bedside tables with cup stays and dusty surfaces just need some attention to detail. Biggest bug bare is paying to stay somewhere when the bathroom needs a good scrub! Just clean the grout- no excuses!

Very comfortable bed, but the road outside was really busy and noisy( which can’t be helped in London)pub is excellent with a good variety on the main menu. The choice at breakfast is outstanding and the service was great
