Absolutely love staying here! It’s the only place we stay when we travel to Portland. The staff is super friendly and they have security in the parking lot which definitely puts us at ease. The check in process is always smooth.

Came in after check in, yet was told to wait while they did essentially a hand off for shift chamge, then the oncoming desk clerk yells to her manager that she wants to talk to her about something and left the desk while we waited. Then they didn't have rooms ready, so we had to wait for that. Was all incredibly unorganized and informal.

Not a place I’d recommend unless it is your last option available. The transitional housing they facilitate makes the stay uncomfortable for a number of reasons. Primarily the cloud of cigarette smoke you enter through from the residents as you enter the lobby. The room was clean enough but we started with dirty towels in the room so the cleaning isn’t too thorough. The grab and go breakfast they offer is like the left overs at the bottom of a soccer mom’s purse and that was before it had been picked over. The staff member who checked us in was friendly but the manager FaceTimed her to check occupancy numbers during the process which delayed us a bit while they went over it all. All and all a disappointing stay we won’t soon forget.

The property met my needs while I was staying there and the front desk person who checked me in did make it a point to put me and my friend on the 3rd floor for our safety as two women traveling alone. However, it is listed as having a full breakfast, while it does not. Even the very limited breakfast options has missing components such as a yogurt despite the fact that I was staying over a holiday weekend. The worst part of this entire stay happened at the end of my stay. As I was leaving, I was in a rush. I ended up dropping my pillow and stuffed animals in the walkway in the middle of their parking lot. When I called back to see if I left the items in the room, I was informed that a staff member has indeed found my items, but given the location decided it would be impossible to determine who the items belonged to. Instead of taking the items to their lost and found, the staff member put the items in the hotel's compacting dumpter, making it impossible to retrieve them when I called back desperately looking for the stuffed animals that my students gave me. Their actions were unprofessional and emotionally damaging given the sentimental value of those items. There was no apology from the hotel or acknowledgment that they could have done something better or different. There was a complete lack of customer service. I travel to Portland quite frequently and would have stayed again, but not if the staff is going to be so cavalier with my things when I make an innocent mistake.

I like how much space you get at Extended Stay America. The rooms are always clean and spacious, and the staff is always courteous. I also like that it doesn't cost "an arm and a leg!"

The building itself is located in an unsafe area with lots of homeless around but convenient to the Expo Center. The room was clean but had an ant infestation. The interior was updated but the bed was not comfortable (hard as a rock!).

Modern, clean and budget-friendly

I stayed here during a business trip in April 2025. I was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the lobby/cafeteria and the modern amenities in the guest room. Everything looked new and was kept clean. I had a room on the first floor and my only (minor) complaint is that outside my window, there were loud people in the parking lot even into the early morning hours. Later, I saw that police had arrived. It wasn't a big deal but this is an "extended-stay" hotel, after all. You never know who is going to be here. Overall, I'd say that this is a nice place to stay. The staff is cool and the place is clean. No strange smells or sticky floors. No gang members hanging around. The continental breakfast is as minimalistic as it gets but at least they sell Rockstar energy drinks in the vending machine.
