Friendly staff, beautiful grounds around the pool and breakfast area outside. Nice buffet breakfast with eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, bagels, juice, pastries. We asked for a quiet room, and it was mostly very quiet, except for an occasional noise from the train going by nearby, but it wasn't late so wasn't an issue. I also would suggest on your checkout day that you put a Do Not Disturb sign on your door until you are ready to check out. Checkout time is noon, but the maid tried several times to knock and come in while we were still getting dressed, etc. Easily fixed by putting a sign next time. Overall this is a great place to stay.

I didn’t like stairs leading to our upstairs room wasn’t maintained & was dirty. Lots of Families were in town to drop off their College aged kids attending UCSB and surrounding Hotels seemed priced high to take advantage of the high number of people.

I realize a temporary issue BUT the hotel should have planned better when installing new curtains. The chemical smell was awful and I was not the only guest who complained about it. We deserved more than apology. Hopefully the chemicals were not toxic breathing them for three days.
