The photos are a good representation of the property. Host was pleasant. We had a couple of dogs with us. The house and property was enjoyable and as expected.
The property was about a mile and a half from the plaza and there were no sidewalks for most of it so I would not recommend walking to the plaza. There was a very nice walk with trails near the museums. The property is eclectic (more rustic than modern, the floorplan is a little chopped up and there is some older carpet) but served our needs. Other reviewers mentioned the tiny sink in the downstairs bathroom and we confirmed that other than washing your hands, it was too small to brush your teeth or wash your face. There is a somewhat slippery ramp right outside the upstairs bathroom which was fine but may be hard for less mobile people to navigate. The shower in that bathroom is small and may be difficult to use for very tall or large people. One of the windows in the upstairs bedroom did not have covering but that did not bother me. The bed in that room is very comfortable. The downstairs living room and large round table in the dining area are comfortable. The kitchen is adequately stocked with utensils and spices. A couple of us had difficulty connecting phones and tablets on the WiFi (there were no issues connecting my laptop though.)Communication with the host was good. While not the most up to date VRBO I've stayed in, the property has rustic New Mexico charm and was comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sun Mountain house. It's a beautiful property from which you can walk into town or up further into the mountains. The house has some quirky aspects to it - such as a very small sink in the downstairs bathroom - but we quickly got used to them, and the library and grounds, where deer and hummingbirds are frequently to be seen - are well worth a stay here.
