"Comfortable stay at Monte Carlo Inn in Barrie. Parking was getting full quick but I found a good spot. I enjoyed the big screen TV in my room and the bed was very comfortable. At breakfast however, the staff told me I can’t bring food upstairs to my room, but I was told previously (when I checked in) that I can, the front desk staff she said I can bring the china plates and cutlery upstairs and leave it in my room at check-out, instead of having to bring it back to the restaurant. This was very disappointing for me, as I wanted to bring the breakfast to eat later in the morning because I had to go to sleep. So I had to stay in the dining room and stuff myself with food when I wasn’t that hungry. I think it’s a terrible way to treat your customers that way. Actually the breakfast staff said she’ll double check with the manager and the manager was strict and said I can’t bring the food upstairs but had to eat it in the dining room. Other hotels allow for us to bring the breakfast food upstairs. I will be booking another hotel like the one beside (or a few doors down) Monte Carlo Inn next time! I stayed at Days Inn before and they let me bring breakfast upstairs to my room! So I recommend Days Inn over Monte Carlo (unless they change the policy or have a nicer manager look after the breakfast room). "
