This was the perfect get-a-way for our friends to celebrate St Patrickâs day together. We all enjoyed being right on the water! Would definitely recommend to others who have at least 8 people in their party.
Property was awesome! Clean, organized, very comfy and warm. Very charming. Perfect for a bunch of hard working friends who all needed a weekend w/o spouses and kids to relax and catch up on everyones hetic lives. Everything worked as it should and was very modern. Only thing that wouldve put it over the top is if the 2 cottages had an indoor connection between them. Will def book again!
Beautiful views of the lake and all the stacking ice was amazing ! Over all a great stay. Only issues was dog hair left by a previous guest and a patio door wouldnât lock. Would love to come back in the summer.
The cabins were cute but the bed sheets had hair on 3 of the four beds. When we pulled back the sheets and looked at the mattress it had some unknown debris on the actual mattress and yellow staining which was concerning. It looked like bed bug droppings. We contacted management and they sent housekeeping but housekeeping did not do anything to beds and said it was lint? huh?
I love the place because we were all able to take our dogs with us. The house was lacking decent pots, pans and bakeware. It also lacked a pitcher to make ice tea. I know our stay was shortened because of the bad storm went through. There also was a problem with ants in the cottage closet to the roa.
We had a wonderful time at this vacation rental. The cottages were great and between the two were well equipped. Our teens entered the lake right in front of us. The sunsets were beautiful. You do need shoes on all the time as the stones are hard on the feet. (Also hard on the pups feet). I also would suggest a small step stool to reach higher cupboards.
Location: amazing location! Just a mile from the strip. Utilize the Sunset Taxi service at just $5/person to take you to the strip. So worth it. They have shuttle busses so all can ride together.
Setup: this is a duplex. Both sides have the same setup: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 pull out couch, 2 loveseat, and a kitchen. You need to go outside through the sliding glass or main door to go to the other side. 11 of us stayed here comfortably.
Amenities: has very little for amenities. If you book here, bring trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper. Supply your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash. D/W was nice to have, as was the W/D unit (in the living room). Bring your own materials if youâd like to have a fire. Awesome setup outside for that.
Cleanliness: could only give 2 stars on this topic. Crumbs were all over the floor- felt gross to walk barefoot. We even found a piece of toast under the couch and didnât even have bread in the home. The pull-out couch was unusable because of how dirty it was.
Overall: would recommend due to location and setup of the property. Definitely come prepared with your own amenities and think twice if your party would require the pull out couch. We just had people sleep on the couch itself.
When we arrived at 4pm the electricity was not working, we received a message saying that it would be restored by 5:30. The power was not restored by 8:00 pm so we had no choice but to leave and find last minute accommodations since we had kids and elderly in 90+ degree heat and it was going to be dark soon. We had no way to know when or if the power would be restored. I contacted the host who did not offer any resolutions to my concerns. I requested a refund and was denied any compensation. The host did not care at all about any of my concerns or the safety of my family.
The property itself is disgusting. Musty, flies everywhere, trash left, old food in fridge. Houses butted up against each other, no privacy.
The photos make it appear to be one big house but these are two separate houses that do not connect. 2 bedrooms in one house and 2 bedrooms in another house. There is no direct access to the lake whatsoever, you cannot walk down the steep hill off the gravel backyard to access it. We were trying to figure out how they even took the photos that are in the listing.
Overall if the electricity were functional I would still leave a 1 star review for how deceiving this listing is. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
I held my sisterâs bachelorette weekend here and it was the perfect place. It was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. We had no issues with the property. The backyard is gorgeous and the perfect place to relax and enjoy the water. The neighborhood was friendly and quiet. It was walking distance from sunset rentals for transportation and not too far of a distance from the strip. You could wake up and hear the waves. It did not feel like you were in Ohio. I highly recommend this rental for parties or family getaways! We had such a memorable and fun trip!
This property is amazing! Very clean, comfortable and welcoming. We stayed in the cottages for a second year to attend our family reunion. Very comfortable beds and furnisher. If you are looking to stay in Geneva, I highly recommend this place!
This is a duplex with nearly identical sides. Each unit has 2 queen bedrooms & 1 bathroom.
Thereâs a common deck in the middle with a nice round type picnic table that seats 8. We could go back & forth from the units pretty easily, but just so you know, they are not connected. You do have to go outside. The barbecue pits were nice. We grilled & watched the water. It doesnât get any better than that. You will need to get your own charcoal & lighter fluid. Also, if you want to make a fire in the fire pit, youâll need to grab some wood. There are several houses along the roads that had firewood for sale, & some pop up farm stands with fresh eggs & produce in July 2023. The photos are a bit deceiving as you canât just walk right to the water from the gravel. Thereâs a pretty steep hill of weeds past the gravel. Most of the houses nearby are temporary rentals. All of the people we met were very friendly & willing to share their yards that allowed an easier walk down to the water. This place is absolutely beautiful. Thereâs a convenience store with a gas station right around the corner. The units were comfortable & well kept. The Adirondack chairs were very comfortable, & there were plenty. We had such a great time in Geneva on the Lake, Ohio. Everyone of the locals was friendly. We would definitely recommend staying at this house & spending time in this lovely town. Weâre already thinking about our next visit.
The property is located on the lake. The views are incredible. There are 2 cottages included with the rental. The bedrooms are decent size, however there are no closets which means no hangers to hang clothes. There is a dresser in each room. Living room couch and love seat are comfortable. Plenty of kitchen space, although there is no light specifically designated for the kitchen. At least none I could find, which meant lights needed to be on in the living room too. Under counter lighting might help. Kitchen fully stocked. I could not get the electric fireplace to work. It wasn't important so I did not call maintenance. Bathroom is small but sufficient. Nice walk in shower. Water was backing up in the shower and within 5 minutes of my call to the office maintenance was there to fix. Cabinet behind toilet for personal items. Very nice washer and dryer. Sun room has built in counter with stools so you can sit and enjoy the view while eating breakfast or enjoying a glass of wine. These units are dog friendly and they have a small fenced in grassy area for your pets use. Adirondack chairs around firepit along the shore as well as a picnic table. You will need to buy firewood. Small charcoal grill provided. The cottages are conveniently located, maybe 5 minutes, to the strip and the park, however it is not within walking distance. Although the weather was quite cold during our stay, we did experience occasional sunshine and were able to tour wineries and covered bridges. Our stay was early May and I would caution you that nothing is open until Memorial Day. We could not find anything open for breakfast other than The Lodge.
The only place open for lunch was Firehouse winery. A couple bar/restaurants opened at 4/5 p.m. We were there Sunday to Friday, so weekend hours may differ than mid-week. Ashtabula is a 15 to 20 minute drive and worth visiting. We took pictures of the amazing sunset on the 2 days it didn't rain. We would stay at this property again.
