We stayed here 2 years ago and it was great then. All the staff was very friendly. We had an issue with the bathroom being way to small in our room and went to front desk and they gave us a much nicer room in a matter of minutes. The river side view was amazing! Room we really clean and the bathroom this time was much bigger. The lobby is amazing. If our next visit places us in that area, we will be returning!

I liked the lobby. It was beautiful. The security guards were helpful in my search for a potential missing phone as well. However, the room wasn't cleaned properly before we arrived. The doors on my shower didn't close properly and the bathroom was just awful all together. Staff were initially rude when I arrived because I used booking assurance because I knew I'd check in late, and they informed me I couldn't check in. There was a rather large amount of damage to the toilet in my room as well.

The idea of this Hotel being Historic is amazing. The lack of Quality in the deferred maintenance is horrible. I wish that I could show pictures of the lack of detail to this building. Then drain pipe going into the wall looks like someone chewed through it. The amazing decorative door hardware covered with paint because no one taped it off, no. The dirt and filth on the stairway is gross. Sitting in the restaurant eating breakfast, OMG. So they sit us in the doorway to the Kitchen and we were able to here everyone’s family issues and problems with their wigs and then the yelling across the dining room to have their conversation. No, please wait. I went to pay for our breakfast and was told that I would need to go to another restaurant near the lobby because the cashier was no longer available. No wait. So I walk all the way to lobby and ask if I can pay for my breakfast. Cashier looks at me like a calf at a new gate. Yep, the same cashier that was at the other place yelling across the dining area. So I hand here a $50.00 dollar bill, US. And so the terror starts to build. Two other workers and myself are watching her attempting to count back change, and one of them asked Out-loud (enter name here, do you even know how to count). About peed my pants. I made sure that the waiter Allen would get his tip and was assured yes. I’ll check with him later as he was way down around the hallway at the other restaurant. After twenty years as a cop, I felt like I was staying in a

The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Rauchad in particular directed us to a wonderful restaurant, the Exchequer, for some excellent deep dish pizza. The hotel itself, though a little older, was well kept and was full of charm and character. It also has a long and interesting Chicago history!
