This modern and private lower level apartment is a comfortable and convenient home base in the Chicago area. With a private entrance and thoughtful layout, it is well suited for couples, families, and professionals looking for a quiet and practical stay with easy access to the city.

The apartment comfortably accommodates up to six guests and includes a private bedroom with two full size beds, a living area with a full size sofa bed, and a dedicated workspace. The space is designed for both short and longer stays, offering privacy, functionality, and comfort.

The living area includes a smart HDTV for entertainment. The bedroom is private and separated from the main living space, making it easy for families or groups to spread out. The bathroom is bright and modern and includes a bathtub and shower combination. Fresh towels and basic toiletries are provided.

For added convenience, the apartment includes fast Wi Fi, a full in unit washer and dryer for exclusive guest use, and a refreshment nook with a mini fridge, microwave, K cup coffee maker with complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, an electric kettle, and a toaster. A dining table is available for meals, snacks, or planning your day.

Traveling with children is easy. Upon request, we are happy to provide family friendly items including a crib, Pack n Play, booster seat, baby bath, outlet covers, and children’s toys.

Guests will have exclusive and private access to the entire lower level apartment, including the living room, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry area. The apartment has its own dedicated private entrance, allowing for full privacy and independence. Self check in is available anytime after 4:00 PM using a secure smart lock. Access codes are provided prior to arrival.

Please note that this apartment is located on the lower level of our family home. While we aim to provide a peaceful environment, you may occasionally hear light movement or normal household noise from upstairs during daytime hours.

Temperature is controlled centrally from the main unit upstairs. We are always happy to adjust the temperature upon request. For additional comfort, the apartment is equipped with space heaters, fans, and magnetic vent covers.

For your safety and peace of mind, the apartment is equipped with smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and a first aid kit. Exterior security cameras are located at the front, side, and back of the house and record continuously. There are no cameras inside the private apartment.

The apartment is professionally cleaned before each stay and stocked to ensure a comfortable and stress free experience.

Host was accommodating with last minute change to reservation. Location was close to our family with easy street parking. Felt safe, family neighborhood. Very clean and newly updated. Nice for a small family or couple to land after a day in the city. . Basement apartment with lower ceilings. Dorm fridge and microwave in mini kitchen. Appreciated the washer and dryer.

We had a wonderful stay at Shimmy's apartment. The place was immaculate. It is so nice to stay at a place that is so well taken care of. Our hosts were wonderful! It is evident that their aim is to ensure the guests are comfortable and are able to enjoy their stay. We definitely recommend the apartment to anyone planning a visit to Chicago. It is a big city and if you don't bring a car, you can get to the bus stop in a few minutes walk, then you can use trains to get around Chicago without any issue.

Cozy Nook in Nice, Quite Neighborhood

This spot was perfect for our Chicago visit where we mostly needed a place to sleep, not hang out. It seemed to have been refinished recently, so beds were comfy, bathroom lovely, and sitting area big enough for the two of us.

Clean and comfortable!

Very nice and affordable! Much like a stay in a hotel suite, but situated in charming and safe neighborhood and void of the odd smells you’d get from smokers or God knows what else haha. The hosts were present in the home above, but were very communicative and respectful! The space was just so cute and well kept! Will gladly stay here in again in the future! Thank you hosts! My daughter had a great 15th birthday weekend, partly contributed by you both! Blessings!
