Hotels with smoking rooms in North America from CA $89

"I had an absolutely terrible experience at The New Yorker Hotel. After my stay, I was hit with a $500 "smoking fee" despite the fact that I do not smoke and did not smoke in the room. This is a blatant cash grab and a complete lack of integrity on the hotel's part. When I tried to resolve this on-site, the lack of professionalism was staggering. I requested to speak with a manager and was simply handed a business card. I have reached out multiple times to the contact provided, but they have completely ignored my messages. I also asked for a manual check (instead of automated sensor) to check for smoke and was denied. Attempting to dispute the charge has been a nightmare because of their refusal to communicate. Warning to future travelers: Stay elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels in New York that won't slap you with fraudulent fees and then hide behind a non-responsive management team. This was a dishonest and stressful experience from start to finish."

"Upon arrival the staff at the door and front desk were not welcoming at all. Not even once they said welcome or can I help you. We had an issue with my reservation due to my last name and my license not matching. Front desk staff was trying to help but manager Kenner He was rude and condescending. So another staff ended up helping us to resolve the issue. We also had an issue with the valet parking because we paid for valet service at 6 pm upon arrival and our vehicle was still outside when we returned around 11 pm. Not sure when they finally took the vehicle away but we took pictures of the car in the street. When we checked out we addressed that issue with a female manager and she told us that she was going to call the parking garage to prorate the valet. She instructed us to call her when we were ready to pick up our car. When we call front desk told us that the female manager was not available and they transferred us to Keener He and he told us the prorated amount was $80 when in fact that wasn’t true. When we questioned him about the $80 he said:” $80 is what you pay no matter what.” Having dealt with him the day before we decided that we would not go back through another experience with him. Other than that the hotel is great but we won’t be staying here again due to the lack of professionalism/ customer service. "

"Great breakfast sandwiches that can be purchased with your resort fees. Coffee good too. The elevators are being upgraded. Expect to wait 5 to 10 minutes for an elevator. Even then one has to squeeze on. Very frustrating and appears to be a long term project. Also our TV didn’t work and no bath mat one day. Little things but not up to usual Hilton standards. A large UN student group so maybe that stretched things.,"
