Having booked via Hotels.com, I received an email from the hotel with a link that I needed to complete with some personal details. The link took me to a form but the form itself didn't work. I ended up having to message the hotel with the requested information via the Hotels.com app. This message was never acknowledged. There is no reception at the hotel so access on arrival is managed by an app which you need to download in advance. The check-in process via the app is smooth and the digital access worked perfectly for both the main door and our room. The property is in a fairly good location. We're up for 20-30min walks, which got us most places we wanted to see, but there is also a tram stop right outside. On arrival to our room, the first thing to hit us was a smell of smoke. Disappointing as it is specifically a non-smoking room. Without a reception, we had to contact staff via WhatsApp. They were fairly quick to reply but there were no alternative rooms available that night. They assured me the room would be deodorised and we would hear the next day from staff as to whether a room was available for our second and final night. We didn't hear back. We managed to air the room only by sleeping with the window open with January temperatures and a busy road outside. The next day the room smelled strongly again so have to assume it was not deodorised. Facilities are fine for what you need on a short trip but cleanliness could be improved. Walls are paper thin. Good shower
