The room was very clean. Staff were friendly and professional. There was no hot water in the morning to take a shower. My husband and I had to take cold showers. Communication to hotel guests didn’t happen until approximately 9:00 am, from what it appears, happened as a result of guests complaining.

The front desk staff is very responsive. However, the property is old, the bathroom door won't close without pushing hard with our body weight, the boiler didn't work on the morning we had to leave so it was cold water wash up only. The place needs maintenance and refurbishing.

We were very happy with our stay. The bed was comfortable, the views from the room were great. I wasn't a great fan of the breakfast but overall this was a very pleasant experience and would recommend.

We stayed here for one night last week during our roadtrip through Nova Scotia. Unfortunately, a few days later, our car broke down and we had to have it towed back to Halifax and checked in for another three night stay at this property. We are grateful for the friendly staff, the great breakfast options, and the outdoor area overlooking the lake (perfect for our four-legged friend). We certainly didn’t expect to come back to this hotel so soon but, given the circumstances, it’s a good place to be stranded for a couple days.

Plenty of seating out by the lake. Very relaxing to sit and watch the ducks. Had a Wonderful meal at the restaurant! The room was quiet and comfortable. The included breakfast was great as well. Very pleased with our stay!

The layout of this hotel is truly unique. It’s not all on the same level—you often have to go up and down stairs, even when you’re technically on the same floor. This makes it quite easy to get lost, and it turned out to be the most uniquely structured hotel I’ve ever stayed in. However, it sits right beside a beautiful lake and not too from city centre and shopping malls.
