Excellent location, this Hotel has been in this location for over 60 years as I was here in 1965!!! Even at 80 yrs, you can walk to most that is Halifax. This OLD place is looking great & still providing an great place to stay

The doorman who greeted us as we pulled up was very friendly and explained the parking procedure . After a long drive , it was lovely to be enveloped in the pristine character of this historic hotel

Hotels is nice, but my room without hair dryer. I believe it happened accidentally. I asked for a hair dryer, they bring me a odor eliminator. After that they bring me a real hair dryer, but it is not working. And they said it is the only one they have. Finally all my family have to wait the hair dry to sleep.

Beautiful Hotel

This hotel is beautiful and very affordable. Suites are spacious and well appointed. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Walking distance to restaurants and the Halifax Victorian gardens.

Close to the city garden,citadel and the waterfront dining. The Arms restaurant is good for late arrivals but availability fluctuates quickly if a tour checks in. Lots of other foods/drink spots around about a two block square area if you don’t want to wander to the waterfront. Nice big room though didn’t notice on booking and was surprised that our room rate for 3 nights varied each day getting to its most expensive level the last night (Aug 30). I am not sure it would have made any difference to our selection but just didn’t notice what was presumably a demand based rate possibly related with not booking the whole long weekend.

Nice stay

Nice grand old hotel. Good location for walking around town. Room and bed were comfy although the noise from doors slamming down the hall was irritating. Complementary umbrellas were appreciated and sitting on the front porch with a drink watching the rain was lovely. We would stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful and our room was fantastic! We had a full sitting room with a small kitchenette in addition to a full bedroom and bath - like a small apartment. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel building is elegant and beautifully maintained and decorated. Very convenient location, easy walk to everything, and great self-park. Highly recommend.
