This is one of the last Kama'aina owned hotel. Older but so much charm. Pub food with coffee and limited breakfast options. Everything is really tasty. Lincoln and the rest of the staff were so wonderful to us. We felt like family not customers. Right next to the Marina, walking distance to tons of shopping. Close to Queen's medical. This is my new go to hotel when staying overnight after getting healthcare. This is the 3rd hotel I have tried in this price range for overnight stays. This by far the best one. Smaller pool right nest to the bar and pub food. So well thought out. Just loved the place.

This hotel is wonderfully no-nonsense! While you won't have a five-star spa and Michelin-starred room service on property, it's clean and comfortable with basic modern amenities (WiFi, cable, parking) and the staff are courteous. The decor is unique, the bar & cafe at the pool has a good variety of drinks and fare. The pool is crystal clear, albeit cold (it's not heated and because the buildings are close to each other, the sun doesn't hit it). Shell out the extra dough and get a suite with a balcony or on a higher floor.

This hotel was really adorable! The location was amazing, across the street from Ala Moana and the beach. Room was clean, pillows were comfy. The staff was SO friendly. My only regret is that I wish we could have stayed longer!

Great rate for location. Rooms are small and a little dated but very clean. Best quiet bar in Waikiki. Drinks are hand concocted, no bar mixes in sight. Bartenders are friendly - and the morning bartender makes the best bloody mary's - that and a piece of toast will set you for the day!

This hotel has a unique layout that starts with a stairway up into a bar area and a lobby off to the right that is more of an office. I have stayed here twice. It has enough comfort, location, and safety for the price. It is in between Waikiki and Ala Moana mall area. I was only in town overnight so price was more my concern than frills. I like it fine and will stay again on one of my layovers. The only hiccup for me was the hotels.com price was supposed to be inclusive of all fees and taxes and I got dinged for a $25 resort fee. I came in at 11pm and didn’t want to argue the point so I will see what hotels.com says and hope for the little refund. It is a good place if you are a walker as it is on the edge of two good walking areas.

We had a short night so my review is probably not the most informative. Loved the hotel, the bar area, the food, the room! We were able to walk to plenty of places from the hotel. There was live music in the evening but the bar area was packed so I wasn't able to sit and enjoy. But I listened from the walkway above - great band!

While the room was clean and fairly quiet, the carpets really could use a deep clean. We were surprised to come back after a day out to discover our bed had been made, something we haven't experienced in quite some time, so that was nice, and fresh towels were provided when we left some for cleaning on the following day. Most of the staff were quite friendly, with the exception of the bartender who provided our "welcome" drinks on our final evening, making comments about having to fix "the most difficult drink" of the free options for me and just generally unfriendly compared to the other terrific bar staff we had encountered during our stay. Biggest complaint is the parking. Expedia's listing makes it sound like there is on-street parking close by which is completely inaccurate and misleading! There is no such thing! And The Equus has very limited parking available. We were "lucky" enough to secure their last available spot, at $30 per night. After traveling to Oahu I get that parking in the area is at a premium; however, I don't appreciate being misled and having to fork over more money than expected.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the multiple check-in issues and poor service I experienced during my stay at the Equus Hotel for 5 nights My stay consisted of three separate bookings for a total of five nights: Booking 1: Original booking for 3 nights. Booking 2: Added 1 nights . Booking 3: Added 1 more night On 1st night, I called the hotel at approximately 1:26 p.m. to inform the front desk that I would be arriving that evening and consolidating my bookings. The day-shift staff member confirmed that this was not a problem and assured me I would be checked in for all five nights upon arrival. However, the check-in process proved to be highly unprofessional: First night Check-in: The night-shift front desk associate only checked me in for a single night, forcing me to return the following day to check in again. Second days Check-in:The same front desk associate questioned why I had multiple bookings and again attempted to check me in for only one night. When I requested to be checked in for the remaining four nights, she asked, "Why are you being difficult?" This is an unacceptable level of service. No guest should have to check in daily for a continuous stay. The associate's hostile and unhelpful attitude was inhospitable and created a deeply frustrating experience.
