The room was clean and has a small refrigerator and lil coffee maker. Bed was super comfy. I enjoyed their electric fireplace that would even crackle. Food was tasty and service was great. Will be returning for sure.

Paid for a balcony, and there was a diesel generator directly below the balcony spewing exhaust. The generator was running 24 hours a day while we were there. Got moved to a different room for day 2, no issues with that. The property is dated, which can be part of its appeal/uniqueness. Property needs updating (floors cracked/broken, stairs cracked/broken, with duct tape on some sections). Door to balcony didn’t have a tight seal. HVAC unit loud, but did keep the temperature to an appropriate level. Restaurant is fair, seemed like meals didn’t come to the table hot, but luke warm/cold (3 different meals). Staff friendly and trying to be helpful.

Charming non-pretentious, casual, friendly old-fashioned hotel with good food, comfortable clean rooms and wonderfully cordial staff. The setting is beautiful in summer and winter. We’ve been twice and will be returning!

Very quaint. Large lodge with full restaurant, small snack store, full bar. Rooms are comfortable. The only drawback is that there is no elevator. Built in the early 1980s, it was grandfathered in to not require an elevator. The stairs can be taxing but staff was willing to move us if we chose. Overall, very nice. Could use some updating here and there. Great views.

The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of staff. Stick with me here. Staff were AMAZING! Everyone was friendly, helpful, and would literally do anything to make our stay wonderful. Front desk even came to our room to change our beeping fire alarm due to low batteries. Just good, hard working people…..however, they are severely understaffed. Bar, restaurant, front desk (and cafe)….all fabulous, and they receive 5 stars. Now the 2 star review. Although this was clearly a luxurious lodge in its day….it is falling into disrepair. Stairwell smelled as though an animal had died, items stacked in corners of hallways, ice machine not working, rooms out of date, outside needed paint and siding replaced, and I could go on and on and on. Our room was clean, but getting TO our room was rather concerning. Apparently, there are new owners that have a vision to bring this once luxurious lodge back to its grandeur. And, more than anything, I hope this is true. There is SO MUCH potential there!! It just needs LOTS of love, time and attention.
