When I got there at 4:30 PM, they said my room wasn’t ready yet. What! It wasn’t a very good beginning so they’re going to have to dig themselves out of the hole. First location as far as going to and from the airport was great. There is only $1.25 from the airport and the bus stop was one minute walk to the hotel so the same going back to the airport. It was for me about a seven minute walk to the Saint Charles Avenue streetcar. Which took me to the Garden District which is beautiful and worth walking around or touring. It is two blocks from Canal Street and some quick eats. Breakfast was pretty good. Every day it was a little bit different, but there was plenty to eat including hot dishes. Security is good. They have a guard in the lobby all the time. You need your room card to get into the lobby and to use the elevators. The rooms are big and clean. The water in the bathroom gets warm fast and there are plenty of towels. If you want housekeeping, you have to tell them 24 hours in advance. They have a whole kitchen with a microwave and a stove and dishes and utensils if you want to cook your own food instead of going out and buying it but who does that in New Orleans? Other street car lines are available on Canal Street. It was a rough start, but they made up for it later. I would stay here again.

My personal experience was mixed. I got the two bedroom suite which was not stated on the app that it was the penthouse suite. The app told me the hold for incidentals was going to be a 250, but when I arrived at the location unaware that I had the penthouse, required a THOUSAND DOLLAR incidental charge which luckily i had it at the moment because it would have definitely ruined my plans if had not have that in my account. The worse part about my experience is trying to get to my room. There was only one elevator that went up to the penthouse level out of four and there was no way to call that elavator down specifically. I was stuck in the lobby waiting for 20 minutes at one point because i couldn't get that elevator to come and the front desk was no help. What kind of penthouse experience is that. When finally getting to the room it was nice but very plain. No art or anything. We even had a huge balcony but no funiture to enjoy it. Such a waste. Whats really sad is we had a 2 night stay and house keeping did not come once. For my first unintentional penthouse experience, i believe it was not the best experience i could of had. Beautiful but not worth the trouble.
