I liked the location and value. I didn't like being charged a late fee when I notified the hotel of late check-in for both rooms. Occupants of both rooms were coming in from Hawaii. Please e-mail me final statements.

We didn’t get the room we were “guaranteed” until the next day we checked it.. the first room was pretty dirty and super outdated... there was someone else’s jacket along with headphones left on one of the couches... the WiFi is an extra $15 a day not $10 unless you have one phone. The second room was nicer but still a few things that felt off. The front desk is neither friendly or rude. The location is good though.

The only reason we stayed at this hotel is because this was the hotel that my daughter's choir was staying at and it's close proximity to Carnegie Hall. It was also very close to Central Park and Times Square. However, the hotel is old and our room had a mold and musty smell. There is no wifi available and the main elevators were broken during our entire 5 night stay. We were on the 15th floor and forced to use the service elevator which held a maximum of 6 people comfortably and maybe 7-8 if absolutely necessary. It could take 10-15 minutes to wait for the elevator during busy times and despite the inconvenience the hotel did not offer any additional compensation or discounts. People had to wait for the elevator for so long that they would force themselves into it and thus we were stuffed in there tighter than a Tokyo train station a few times. Customer service was obviously not a priority. I would definitely not stay in this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone.

I love the location of the hotel. The front desk staff, the bellmen AND the room attendants were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is dated but it is very spacious, and it was clean, and the beds were comfortable.

It's an older building and well-used, but reasonably well maintained. The cleaning staff was friendly and efficient. The desk and maintenance staff I encountered were less so. When we had to call for service when our radiator went cold, the guy who came by fixed it but was pretty rude. Some of the desk staff were not very attentive or polite. For our purposes, the location was great. So was the price of the room. All the above was tolerable because of those two things.

While this is an older hotel, it's in a great location and reasonably priced. The refrigerator is generous and there is a great market right across the street as well as a drugstore on the corner. Two blocks from Central Park and the 15 minute walk to Times Square. The deadbolt on our door was not working, but there was a chain and the regular handle locked. We got a king suite, which was great for our different sleeping patterns because there was a separate room. The desk chair was tilted forward but fine for brief sits, and I had to crawl under the chairs to plug in a lamp. There's no vent in the bathroom, which is quite small. But all in all, partly because I go to New York predominantly to see shows and it's so convenient to the theatre district, I've decided after two visits that this is the place I'm going to stay when I go to New York.
