We were on the top floor, which was quiet and clean. Bed was comfortable. Everyone was very friendly. The location can’t be beat. This is the first place I’d try to stay when going to NYC next time.

The hotel rooms were small, but great for the price. The only issue we ran into was that in our room the hot water in the shower wasn't working properly. We had to keep turning the knob to just the right angle in order to get any hot water. Would still stay here again!

Great location, friendly staff and very convenient. We will definitely stay here again. My 11 year old son loved the location, everything was close by and lots of options for food and entertainment.

The property had great location for the subway and Times Square. There was no fridge or microwave. If you plan on taking food back, not a good idea. We called down about having the trash removed since there was no fridge and they said cleaning services would take it the next day, they didn’t come the entire stay. They didn’t bring any new towels, etc. For the price and location, no complaints! If you need the amenities then spend the extra money. We either didn’t read the reviews or missed it when booking!

Just a basic average hotel. Nothing luxurious or extravagant about it. It is clean and provides a place to sleep so if you are not one to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, this would be perfect. It is very noisy so bring ear plugs.

For an economical hotel in NYC, Hotel St. James checks all the boxes. Yes, it needs some updating, but it is clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location and price are excellent!
