Great location for the price, but it’s very noisy. Bathroom doesn’t look very clean, especially the tub/shower. There were small gnats coming out from the sink drain.

The location was perfect for my trip into the city to see shows. It is an easy walk from Penn Station and central located for Broadway. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. They have a room to hold your bag if you come early. The room was clean and efficiently laid out. I would definitely stay again.

This is a very functional, no-frills hotel a block off Time Square and fifth Avenue. Don’t expect luxury, but it puts you where you want to be to be able to walk all sorts of good stuff.

I always love seeing Joey at the front desk. He is Mr. Personality and has been there for years. All the front desk folks are so pleasant and helpful. Margaret, the manager, does sn excellent job to make sure things run smoothly. Hotel St. James is walking distance to a restaurant and convenience store and the theaters!

Room was nothing like the pictures showed when I’d booked. Old and tired, bathroom floor tiles looked dirty, shower tap leaked cold water while showering, so freezing cold water splashing up your legs while showering. No tea/coffee facilities. Furniture old and uncomfortable but the bed fortunately was comfortable. The noise of the air con going off was so loud, it was like a plane taking off. Would not go back.

Excellent location for the tourist attractions of mid-town Manhattan. Affordable and comfortable. The reception staff were all friendly and helpful. A lovely place to stay for our first trip to New York.
