Loved the standard cabin - makes you realize how much space you really don't need in a hotel room. Super nice staff.

As long as you are prepared for the smallness of the rooms and the shared bathrooms, you'll be good. The staff was very attentive and helpful, everything was clean, I really enjoyed my stay here.

I somehow missed knowing that the Jane also houses a really jumping nightclub on weekends -- which didn't affect my sleep as the delightfully snug room was relatively sound-proof and the air-conditioner hum took care of the rest. But with so many merrymakers wandering around the ground floor the staff is understandably frazzled if your itinerary has you checking in late on a weekend night. For my stay 'frazzled' meant curt and a bit petulant when relaying information, and never able to remedy minor details like a missing tv remote. However, great location, with comfort and lots of great style at a great price. And I should note that the staff on a Saturday morning made up for the night before with warm attention, and great recommendations re local eateries and attractions.

Most for the money. Fun place. Nice having good - reasonable-food and bar right there. Employees were awesome. Tight quarters- we were in bunk- but just slept there and that was fine.

Nice Historic Hotel with a Loud DJ :(

Cons: Loud DJ that went on until 4am in the bar downstairs
We loved the charming and historical quality of the Jane and were very happy with the room until the DJ started in the bar downstairs and went on until 4am. The hallway and stairwell floor were a bit dirty.

A pleasant, no frills stay for a short trip

I stayed in the bunk bed cabin, which is adequate for the no-frills traveler. It is about the size of a sleeper car on a train, just so you know that going in. The staff are awesome, and the location is nice and quiet (right along the Hudson River). Just keep in mind that the cabin bunk rooms are very small with a shared bathroom down the hall, so don't expect Trump Tower.

Convenient location

Overall, I was happy with my stay. Relative to other NYC hotels the price is reasonable. I wouldn't pay more. I was a little skeptical going in of the shared bathrooms but that, at least during my stay, wasn't an issue. It was a bit loud as I was there on the weekend and there is some sort of club. And the walls aren't much of a sound barrier even though I was up several floors from ground level. The room was clean and a good size for my purposes (simply a place to keep my things and sleep). The bed itself, wasn't all the comfortable but manageable. It's essentially a futon mattress. The staff were friendly.
