Below standard experience.

Arrived after an event that lasted until 7:30pm. Went to get bath ready for kid. Nothing but brown water for 8-10 minutes of running bath water and emptying it. Have him a bath after many unnecessary gallons of water wasted. Then I went to shower. Nope, no shampoo. And of course, now how can I call once I am sopping wet and in the shower? Then, we go to leave “early” at 8am. Haven’t even been in the hotel but 13 hours before we leave and the vouchers for coffee and breakfast aren’t going to be used because the coffee shop they collaborated with across the street had a lock that they needed to fix or force open on their front door so they didn’t open til after we had to leave. Sometime after 8:40am. Felt a little bit like a tactic they had to not have to honor 100 hotel guests bc it ended up not being a financially sound decision. So Starbucks it is and $20 more dollars out the window. Soundproofed? Not on the 8th floor or below that. At least the bed was reasonable and the room was clean….but of note, no bottle of water provided and no room amenities like a shower cap for a rainfall shower or a towel for wiping off makeup. It was below the standard for which a place can charge as much as they do. Stay at Made NYC for a more quality experience of the things the hotel markets as provided

It was under construction. We have stayed there in the past and was so impressed with the lobby before. We understood it was understand construction but only after booking it.

We were not told the hotel was under renovation. No restaurants n bar which was a huge dissapointment but they still charged full rate. Asked for refund but they refused.

The only reason I gave the property a good rating instead of excellent was because of the amount of renovation going on. Expedia should have informed potential guests of the amenities that were affected. It really does make a considerable difference.

Remodeling inconvenience

Most Staff tried to be helpful. Felt price was extremely unfair due to the under construction atmosphere. Sadly not up to the Sofitel standards of yesteryear.
