This hotel has an early check out at10:00am with no ability to extend. Check out isn’t until 4pm but they need 6 hours for maids to clean the room. Buyer beware. Property may be lovely but they will kick you out quickly which is a problem if you booked only a weekend and are asked to leave at 10am on Sunday.

Good and Bad

Pros: The one bedroom suite was very comfortable and supplied all the amenities. The staff did everything to make our stay comfortable.
Cons: There has to be a seamless communication between Travelocity and the hotel so that the guests does not waste valuable vacation hours on the phone.
The Good: Hotel was run very efficiently. Everything we asked for was provided. I would recommend this hotel for families. It has been well thought out, and has many activities for children The Bad: We originally booked a guest room and when we saw it felt it was too small for a 10 day stay. We tried to upgrade to a one bedroom villa. Because we booked with Travelocity the hotel said we had to go back to Travelocity. We spent several hours with Travelocity on the phone that night to no avail - apparently the resort was sold out but it took several hours to come to this conclusion. I called Travelocity again the next morning and the Travelocity agent tried his best to assist us but it took several hours waiting on the phone until we finally were up graded - valuable travel hours we could have spent doing other things, We were finally upgraded. But when I received the confirmation it was for a day earlier than the flight we were taking.I told the Travelocity agent that we were leaving the next day and had to spend the last night before the flight in the hotel and we needed an extra night. I told him 3 times and he assured me three times the reservation was for the day our flight left. Of course he was wrong and the day before we were leaving we arrived back at our hotel at 3 o'clock and our keys didn't work. So we had to calll Travelocity again and spent yet another hour on the phone to learn that we had to book directly through the hotel for the last night.

Comfortable facility, very nice golf course.

Nice facility, we had a little problem with the hot water but they fixed it promptly. Couldn't use the pool, too cold.

Avoid the Marriott Shadow Ridge

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Messy and noisy. Housekeeping left my door unlocked during the day while I was out.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It is noisy and messy. There are small children running around making noise all hours of day and night. Toys are left in walkways creating a messy look and trip hazards. After being out for a day I returned to my room and found the adjoining door to room next door open as was the door from the next door room. Housekeeping left my door unlocked and the guest next door came into my room while I was gone. I immediately called front desk to inform them of the incident...they did absolutely nothing. Later that night the person next door was turning the door knob trying to come into my room again. I called the front desk again and they finally sent someone to the room to get them to stop. Awful experience.

Pros: The room and the golf course.
Cons: The maid service and the redundant gate.
Location: All kinds of golf courses nearby. Shopping and restaurants were a little farther, but still accessible.
We were so pleased with our stay at Marriott Shadow Ridge. So much so we are going to bring the hubby's back in the fall. The room was spacious, except the door to the bathroom and the closet were so close you could barely get by. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were fabulous. There was some noise from some of the rooms having too many college kids, which made for some interesting shots on the golf course. The staff was amazing, except the maids were a little lax in cleaning up. On a few occasions the floors weren't swept every day and the tub still had the wring from the bath in it. You had to have a key to get through the gate, but every single time we went through, someone went in front of us and we didn't need the key. So, the gate seemed a little redundant. The golf staff was very polite and friendly. The course was in amazing condition and very friendly for an amateur with a bogey handicap. I would definitely stay at Shadow Ridge again!
