This is not a hotel, and Expedia shouldn't be listing this as one in its searches for hotels!
This is a hostel, and it was an awful stay. The "private bathroom" we were given was a public bathroom with a code to get in. This code worked on all the bathrooms in the building and anyone else in the building with the code could use the bathroom on our floor. I did not understand that our room didn't have a bathroom until after checking in.
I'm 50. So when I woke up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I had to bring my phone so that I had the code, my reading glasses so I could see my phone, and walk down a long hallway to get to the bathroom. It's not the same as having a bathroom in one's hotel room. And without that, it's not a hotel, it's a hostel.
I will not be back and I do not recommend this property.
Incredible space with everything you need. A true Portland experience! Details were on point, even down to an in room record player! The location cannot be beat!
This was my second stay. I love the uniqueness of the rooms.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The room was dirty and still had the last person's trash in it (I hope just the last one!). Texted the front desk line (there isn't anyone at the desk after like 4pm) for a toothbrush and they stated they didn't have any but the security guy downstairs not only got us toothbrushes but also some other amenities from the obvious staff access amenities closet. the neighborhood was great, but the staff was aggressively anti-homeless as if we all weren't closer to them than to whoever their rich owners were. such a weird stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Gorgeous old hotel full of natural wood, and beautiful large windows. The staff was attentive to every need. Thanks to everyone at The Clyde.
This hotel is in the center of Portland, there is NO on site parking, there wasn’t even a bathroom in the hotel room. The streets are extremely busy which made it hard to navigate around the hotel and parking was a mess to try and figure out. The room reminded me of an apartment in the middle of NYC that’s you’d pay $3k a month for with a small window view of a brick wall and barely being able to fit a mattress in.
The staff were very sweet, kind, helpful and friendly! The location was great as well as the fair pricing and upkeep of the hotel.
I love that this hotel has an outer lock once business hours have ended. This provided another layer of safety and comfort for us.
The coffee shop next door and inclusion of a free coffee made the trip that much more enjoyable.
The build of the hotel is lovely as well. With a classy, vintage, and eclectic feel, this hotel encompassed the unique beauty of Portland very well.
Food, drinks, events, parking garages, and public transportation are within very simple reach.
Walls were paper thin. Room was barely big enough for the bed. Bathroom was in pieces. Sink by the bed. Shower behind the bed. Toilet in a closet. Not a good part of town either.
I loved this hotel! Virtual check-in was easy. Loved being able to open my door with my phone, and as soon as I entered the suite, soft jazz was playing on the radio and a hand-written welcomed me. The deluxe queen suite was comfortable, so unique and the record player and records in the room were so cool. If you need anything, it’s just a text away. The location is excellent, everything is within walking distance. My room was above the street car so it got loud at night, but the room comes complete with ear plugs and a white noise machine which made all the difference for good sleeps. The bed was so comfortable. When I go back to Portland, I will definitely stay here again.
