Come and enjoy northeast Portland in our sophisticated, well appointed basement guest suite with ample on-street parking, private entrance and a lovely backyard oasis, located within walking and biking distance (one mile) from the Alberta Arts District. Your on-site hosts have extensive neighborhood and Portland knowledge to help you find the perfect spot for your day trips. The shaded backyard with secret garden paths calls out to you to explore. Guests are welcome to use the gas grill, outdoor patio seating, complimentary bikes (2), or outdoor fire table in the evenings. We invite you to sit and enjoy some local micro-brew or local Oregon wines.

The space
With over 900 square feet, this one bedroom guest suite functions like an apartment. It features a luxurious king sleigh bed with a custom hybrid memory foam/coil Helix mattress. The 50” swivel wall mounted TV with Amazon Prime and Netflix (you will need to sign in with your own account) allows for enjoyable viewing from the couch or the bed. The couch also folds out to a queen size bed with memory foam mattress and topper. Additionally, there is a twin size trundle bed (two twin mattresses, one above and one that slides out) in the kitchenette area.

The kitchen has everything needed for making meals, or more likely, mixing up yesterday’s leftovers, considering the incredible choice of delicious food nearby. We offer a full size refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, electric fry pan, dishes, utensils, cookware, toaster oven and coffee makers (drip coffee maker as well as french press, coffee grinder and electric tea kettle). We've also left a collection of menus from local restaurants for your browsing pleasure.

The bathroom is located down the hall from the kitchen, which was recently remodeled in order to add a new tub/shower combo and vanity. The tub features enamel on steel with rubbed bronze finishes and is a generous size to allow for a good soak at the end of the day. A large laundry room is located just past the bathroom and offers a full size washer and dryer, which is exclusively for guest use.

A spacious layout, including a sitting area in the kitchen, is perfect to create a work space, or extra sleeping space for your family or friends.

The suite can accommodate up to four adults (although we technically could sleep more than that, our permit with the City allows a total of 4 guests per stay). The Concordia Guest suite is perfect for a weekend getaway with your friend/partner/spouse, a solo trip to relax and explore the City, a girls weekend away, or for the short term business traveler seeking a home away from home for several weeks. Please note that the space is not suitable for infants or young children.

We were in Portland to celebrate Thanksgiving with our son and his wife. This guest suite was very comfortable and made an excellent spot for us to have some privacy when we weren’t with family. It is nicely situated in the NE area but you probably do need a car to really get around to sightsee.

Beautiful neighborhood with nearby parks; very short walk to University of Oregon, Portland, campus. Rental was clean, easy to access, and nice to have a kitchen and fridge for breakfasts. I'd definitely stay here again, especially in the spring when every yard is in spectacular bloom.

Great location and space!

This property was perfect for my sister and her (adult) son during a 3-day visit to Portland. It gave them the space they needed with all the comfort and amenities. Michelle (host) was super-responsive to inquiries and maintained privacy. The location to our neighboring home was the attraction, and this will be our go-to place to house future visits from family!

What a nice getaway place!

This basement conversion is really nice. Very modern and all the conveniences of home. Light, bright, airy and easy to enjoy. John and Michelle are great hosts - we enjoyed their invitation for a cocktail on the patio one evening and chatted about their interesting lives. Convenient location to all of NE/N Portland.

Extremely comfortable!

Property was precisely as shown on website. Owners were friendly & welcoming. Private entrance and plenty of on-street parking. TV has multiple options for viewing whatever you wish. One of our favorite features was the extremely comfortable king size bed and the coolness of the room. We basically overslept every morning… nice! Will definitely plan on returning!

Location, location, location

Location truly is everything. It’s a beautiful neighborhood and in walking distance from so many incredible restaurants and local shops! Michelle made the stay easy and comfortable! She’s so sweet and accommodating. The mattress was divine and the apartment had ample space. All the tools to cook (but you should definitely be going out to eat). I always note in my reviews: no condiments or seasonings if you do intend to cook. Overall, great experience! We will be back!

Wonderful Retreat with Thoughtful Touches

This was the best vacation rental I’ve stayed at in years! Beautiful and comfy decor with so many special touches like travel size toiletries, creamer in the fridge, coffee/tea, quality shampoo/conditioner. They have thought of everything. The backyard is a beautiful garden retreat with outdoor seating, gas fire pit and even a tiki bar surrounded by well maintained trees and gardens. Stan and Laurie were great hosts too, with nice conversation but also gave us our space. He even gave us a surprise treat of a visit to his garage recording studio where he had laid down some super cool tracks! Oh and we were only half a mile from McMenimans Kennedy School which we walked to for a tour and brunch! I will stay here again the next time I come to Portland and highly recommend you do too!

My Wife and I loved our time spent here. The property was comfortable and inviting. We spent as much time in as we did out and about. The neighborhood was awesome, lots of mom and pop places to eat and drink, friendly people. Pretty sure we’ll be back for a repeat.

10th wedding anniversary

I absolutely love this place. It was our 1st b&b and it was far greater than I imagined. Alot if 1sts on this trip and Laurie and Stan are fantastic they welcomed us and gave us our privacy. They were amazing hosts and I recommend this place to anyone coming to visit Portland which is breath taking. Thank you for everything thank you so much

Great Portland Neighborhood Property

The hosts Laurie and Stan were fantastic! The place was clean and all the supplies were there. We didn't need to buy anything but food. Excellent garden and Tiki Bar was an experience to enjoy.
