Although we enjoyed our stay , we only found out at the end of our stay that we had access to the other Pelícanos resorts restaurants and amenities. Which would have given us more food and entertainment options throughout the week. I had requested a ground level room because my mother has mobility issues but because we had booked on Expedia they refused to respond to my request and upon arrival they had put us in a small room in the 2nd floor , far from the elevator. Astrid the Guest services manager, had other rooms to offer us but unfortunately they were all back facing with small decks . The rooms were not as pictured online and I learned later that the good rooms are only for timeshare owners. We found the food was quite bland and definitely catered to mainly locals with very few staff speaking fluent English. We don’t typically complain and enjoyed our week regardless but for the price of the all inclusive I didn’t believe that we received good value and often found the staff annoyed that we didn’t speak Spanish. The waiters actually tended to ignore us and the beach drink service was in my opinion terrible and at times rude. With over 25 year experience in hospitality and resort management, I will not be returning to the hotel due to the service of the restaurant and bar staff.
The Lifeguard Johnathan as well as the server Lewis and the evening and daytime bellboys went above and beyond to make our stay great.
Astrid at the Front desk was excellent as well.
