The Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Always had a smile. The resort location and beach front is great. The resort itself was clean but dated. The building and amenities were in need of an update 20 years ago.

A plus -Restaurant staff were fantastic! Negatives…. The pool was disgustingly dirty-we didn’t swim after the first day Our room the toilet was leaking and smelled like mold. We switched to a different room. Still mildew smelling but not as strong. Front end staff were grumpy and unwelcoming All in all the hotel is run down. Looks like the plan is to tear it down and make it part of time share which they try and sign you onto right away. We will not return to this hotel

Each room we had reserved had its own quirks. Hotel needs major upgrading. Affordable for what you get. Staff and service was amazing. Spa treatment was amazing. Pool bar closed at 9 which then left the skylounge where no children under 18 were permitted. We were in there one evening and saw 3 children under age of 10. Then we tried to take our child and we were kicked out. Different rules for different people. It was an all round amazing experience and great vacation!

This is not a 5 star resort, but, all the staff treat you as a 5 star guest. The staff from the front desk when you first arrive, the doning crew, all the bar staff, pool and Sky Bar, cleaning, housekeeping, gardener. Hope I didn't miss anyone, as every single person went out of their way to make it an exceptional vacation. Thank you.

Staff at the hotel were mostly nice and helpful. Front desk staff were rude and didnt care at. First hotel room had water pooring out of shower,toilet ran constantly unless you manually fixed it every time and air conditioning was so cold you froze and any adjustment did nothing, so they agreed to give us a different roomwhen shower ran out so bad it went into the hallway we told them and front desk said they will report it but did nothing. Entertainment is all in Spanish so you never know whats going on.front desk staff spoke to a family behind us in line in spanish pulling them ahead of us in line. The worst thing was is when they wanted 1000 pecos to keep our bracelets for 3 hours until we leave for our flight. At 11am they cut you loose or want more money in 20 yrs of traveling to Mexico no hotel has done this.Food is very good drinks terrible. Some staff are excellent and worth mentioning Omar, Angela, Maria and the omelet lady.

For being a low budget resort it was not bad at all. Customer Service was great. Food was good, waiters were excellent! Pool was a bit crowded but good. Rooms, this is where the hotel fell short. A/C was not working at its potential. No mini fridge to at least to keep your beverages cold. Rooms outdated for sure, needs TLC. I did manage to see a couple riches the first night. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again if rooms at least had a mini fridge.

Wifi sucks, which is actually a selling feature for me, no wifi in rooms but the wifi still sucked in the lobby and that part was a negative. Although we enjoyed our stay , we only found out at the end of our stay that we had access to the other Pelícanos resorts restaurants and amenities. Which would have given us more food and entertainment options throughout the week. I had requested a ground level room because my mother has mobility issues but because we had booked on Expedia they refused to respond to my request and upon arrival they had put us in a small room in the 2nd floor , far from the elevator. Astrid the Guest services manager, had other rooms to offer us but unfortunately they were all back facing with small decks . The rooms were not as pictured online and I learned later that the good rooms are only for timeshare owners. We found the food was quite bland and definitely catered to mainly locals with very few staff speaking fluent English. We don’t typically complain and enjoyed our week regardless but for the price of the all inclusive I didn’t believe that we received good value and often found the staff annoyed that we didn’t speak Spanish. The waiters actually tended to ignore us and the beach drink service was in my opinion terrible and at times rude. With over 25 year experience in hospitality and resort management, I will not be returning to the hotel due to the service of the restaurant and bar staff. The Lifeguard Johnathan as well as the server Lewis and the evening and daytime bellboys went above and beyond to make our stay great. Astrid at the Front desk was excellent as well.
