Disappointed, this would be our fourth stay at this hotel. We loved it and looked forward to staying every time. Since our last stay the hotel was sold and it shows. No restaurant or bar open, and that was not stated when booking my stay. So basically paid for a room that was beyond HOT, could not get the “portable air conditioner” that was not correctly installed to work for the life of me. The toilet would not flush properly. Reported it gentleman that came and flipped the handle for a few minutes said he would call someone to fix it, no one did. So between that, the heat, the rundown looking hotel that once was so well taken care of and beautiful and the no hotel restaurant or bar, we left a day early from our three day stay. I could have booked a luxury hotel with what was paid. Sad to say 
 we won’t be back,

Our room appeared to be recently remodeled. The bed was very comfortable which is one of the most important features when you’re driving each day for about 6 hours or more. The bathroom was clean with a nice shower. The breakfast very mediocre in the restaurant that is currently not open.

This is an older hotel with fantastic potential. Our room was clean and large with high ceilings and a large bathroom. The rest of the hotel is a work-in-progress. I believe it is under new ownership. If they invest in it, it will be fantastic. I would love to stay here again when it is refurbished and I expect to pay at least twice as much.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. Hotel has a guest parking lot which is convenient. However, we were disappointed to learn that the hotel restaurant is closed (thus no breakfast options or coffee in lobby) due to a pending food & beverage license given the recent change in hotel management/ownership. There is a small coffee shop across the street which is the only option in town for breakfast. The hotel reception is somewhat lacking in service and professionalism. We didn’t get the impression by their responses that the staff cared too much about our inquiries regarding the broken ice machine and lack of maps, both of which they were already aware. The reception desk isn’t always staffed, and guests are advised to call the cell number left on the counter if anything needed. The hotel’s outside door is supposedly locked overnight, but it was left unsecured in early evening since we returned nightly before 10pm to an empty reception desk on a few occasions and the outside door was not yet locked. This is a nice hotel design-wise and in a good location, but the lack of amenities and the somewhat spotty customer service did not meet our expectations given its high price relative to other options.

We decided to add a night to an already planned trip and decided to stay at the Gould. We like unique hotels, so this fit the bill. Our stay was nice, but not special enough to bring us back for a second stay. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed, so we needed to eat elsewhere in town. (Found a great restaurant a few doors down.) The first lady that checked us in was friendly and welcoming and even suggested restaurants. The lady at the desk when we left didn't even acknowledge us picking up the luggage cart or dropping of the key on the way out. The room was clean. The decor was cute. But not as fancy as the pictures show. The elevator walls were lined with dirty material that seemed odd. It gave me the overall impression of someone wanting to make something great, but either didn't have what it takes to make that way, or someone else took over without the same vision. If your looking for a nice place to stay in town, it foots the bill. Just don't expect the glamor they are trying to portray.

I booked this hotel 4 months in advance. I always pick a place with a bar and restaurant. Entertaining the lobby was sad. Restaurant closed, chairs stacked. with a sign on the desk that stated check in started at 3 (was 2:50). The desk person was friendly and tried hard despite being told new management-so no food. From others comments, been the case for a while. Room was clean though. Mexican restaurant within the block was excellent.

It had two rooms bothe the bedroom and bathroom were clean but the sitting area was not it had not been dusted in weeks the coffee maker was dirty. The air conditioner was a free standing one and made noice. This was booked for my husbands birthday. I was very disappointed. I gave it a 2

Lived this hotel. Quaint and historic with great updates. The staff was amazing. Forget her name but the overnight desk agent was fabulous and helpful with everything.

The room itself was clean however, the hallway and the stairs and the other area seemed like it needed refurbished. The elevator seemed very old and a little shaky.. the restaurant and bar area was not open and the girl who waited on us at the head desk in the evening was not very welcoming. The gentleman in the morning was very friendly when we checked out. The hotel is an area that is very cute though with lots of little restaurants and close to walking distance to some sites.
