I have been traveling through Europe for two weeks and Frankfurt is my last stop. This hotel provided the worth service. There are plenty of hotels in this area so save yourself the frustration.
The hotel itself was fine, but the check-in process was extremely poor and set a negative tone for our stay. The clerk appeared distracted and rushed, handling the process with a noticeable lack of care.
First, after processing my documents, he handed back the room key and passport so carelessly that the room key fell to the floor. Furthermore, the room number was not initially written on the key card sleeve. When I asked the clerk for the room number, he was preoccupied with a conversation with a colleague and gave me a mumbled, unclear verbal number ("forty-one thirty something"). This was confusing as the hotel only has three-digit room numbers, and I had to figure out the correct number myself.
A professional, welcoming check-in is the first impression a hotel makes, and in this case, it was disorganized and frustrating. Training on basic guest service and attention to detail is clearly needed.
