Staff was friendly and helpful. I had to leave the property twice to access the internet to complete work that I needed to do because the cable/internet was out. Obviously the TV didn't work either. I understand that was out of the property's control but no effort was made to make it right. Just "I'm sorry, it's not our fault."

Dank, dismal, decrepit, dilapidated, depressing. I was snookered in by the deceptive title “Monterey beachfront-Marina”. This property is not in Monterey on the marina beachfront. It is 15 minutes away from the town of Monterey, in the small town of Marina, across the street from an enormous sand dune and luxury resort. No waterfront in sight, no beach access near hotel. State beach is a ten minute walk. More like a $65 room rather than a $200 room. The grounds are filthy, the pool is covered and non operable. All of the exterior stair railings are peeling with rust and rot. The door to the room does not fit the frame, with gaps all around and the u shaped security latch is broken and halfway unscrewed from doorframe which is broken and cracked with rusted nails protruding from casement molding. (It appears that door was kicked in at some point) The toilet tank lid was completely cracked in half. The room was dusty and there was only one towel provided for a King bed room. Newer sink. Newer fiberglass bathtub insert. No stopper in the tub. The curved shower curtain rod was sagging due to improper installation, so the curtain did not hang to the edges, resulting in water all over floor while showering. Towel rack above the toilet is down sloping so anything on it falls into toilet. Bathroom door hinges are completely rusted. Only one bedside table. The mattress was sagging and had a 2” foam topper. Pillows were undersized squares full of foam chunks. Lots of road noise.

I was highly disappointed because the hotel room looks nothing like the ones in the pictures. We got into our room after a long drive, and there were flies in the room! There were no towels, the room was still dirty. There was hair all in the bathtub, food on the floor, rappers on the floor. It’s a really small room and we got one with the king size bed. We had the air conditioning unit on, and it made my boyfriend sick, I’m not sure if they have cleaned the filters or not. It did not have a smoke detector, someone removed it from the ceiling , and the following day in the morning of one of the maids were cleaning right next to our door at 8 o’clock in the morning with what sounded like a vacuum or leaf blower, making a lot of noise with no regard for people sleeping. I didn’t feel comfortable trying the breakfast after seeing how dirty the room was. I mentioned it to the front desk and he offered to switch us rooms but at that point I had already cleaned it myself with disinfectant wipes I brought. The only think I liked was that it was a close walk to the beach and we went around 7pm and got to see dolphins swimming around.

I checked in gave me room113 took my belongings out of car went to open door ke card would not work went to office they gave me another room 126. Bed had some kind of cover under sheet very annoying it moved when I moved! Went to take aa shower no water faucets were broken called office but no one came to fix it! Men’s clothing were hanging in closet gave them to an employee walking by only had regular cable channels but said they had dish?? So I won’t stay here again I also talked to some of the people staying there and they had complaints also one asked for a refund!! Anyway a compensation of some kind would be awesome! But if not I was very dissatisfied and will not return!

I got to my room and there was a broken TV and they broken AC. I had a king bed at first and they switched me to a room with a way smaller bed. The AC was not working in this one as well but I didn’t wanna go back-and-forth overall not a good experience. I also asked for a courtesy late check out and they said I could stay here till 1130 not 12. I should’ve been accommodated or compensated for the thing that didn’t go as planned. I look at the reviews in the videos and the pictures on the website, but there’s nothing to compare this place was total trash.

Room didn’t have towels already stocked, had to ask the front desk. Room didn’t have hair dryer, had requested in the morning and was told by front desk, housekeeping will bring it. No one ever came by. Second request that evening, the front desk was very helpful and got right on it. Breakfast was probably the best part of staying here.

We chose this hotel because it was beachfront, knowing it was a basic place that wasn’t updated. It was a one night stay on our way north. Bed was okay, the privacy shade allowed us to look out but no one to see in, but at night there was no additional curtain to draw to keep light out and there was a walkway light right outside the door. Made me very uncomfortable and I had a poor night’s sleep. Breakfast was good and quick. The staff were very nice and accommodating. It served its purpose, but need more room privacy in the future.

Noisy unsafe feeling of hotel, no towels in room, wires dangling from ceiling no lights near bathroom, clumps of hair left on table, tiny room. Phone to reception was broken when I tried to complain. No elevator, noise all night. Awful hotel.

I always travel with cleaning supplies but rarely use them...I used them here, just in case, because of the reviews but our room was decent, hot water worked, ac/heater worked, tv worked. Half the lights did not. It was a bit noisy but nothing crazy. Great location for my little family. We enjoyed our overnight stay.

Our water faucet in the bath tub leaked all night, not only was it noisy but it splashed all outside the bathroom, I have 3 toddlers, who I had to keep getting up and mop the floor for so they could go pee without stepping in puddles. The neighboring room was able to enter our room, despite it being “locked”. My 5 year old daughter was in the bathroom when someone opened the door to our room, freaking us all out. There was no towels in our room at all, and the hair dryer was broken off the wall just thrown under the sink. Over all not a good stay, when I mentioned it to staff the next day she gave me a receipt to write my comments on and said “J” would be in touch. This was last weekend, and I’ve yet to hear from anyone

Breakfast included food options were limited and not accommodating for people with dietary restrictions. The bath towels were limited to only 2 body towels. No hand towels or wash cloth. Only 1 bar of soap provided. The toilet paper roll in bathroom was broken. Overall, the property didn't seem to be well cared for, but the location was nice for the price.

The room was in terrible condition. The front door and the bathroom door didn't function properly. The shower head was so low flow it wouldn't rinse the shampoo from my hair. The television remote didn't work. On line there were pictures of a hot tub but the hot tub was boarded over.

We waited many minutes for a front desk person to show up during typical check-in time (after 3 PM). Room was not clean. Floor hadn't been swept. Found hair on towels and shower curtain (not our own hair). Hole in shower curtain. Broken shower amenities. Soiled couch and patchy paint job. Not worth the over $300 we had to pay.
