The hotel is a beautiful. Classy place. Every time we visit Monterey we stay at the Monterey Plaza hotel because it offers, clean spacious rooms, beautiful views, friendly staff , good restaurants and great location.

The rooms were great. We had a ocean front room with balcony. It was great to sleep with balcony door open and hear the waves all night. The room was very clean. The frig is quite small so we were unable to fit items that we brought up so I suggest you take an extra cooler. The staff was great. We visited the spa and had a couples massage. It was a great experience. The gym has your basic equipment. Enough to get the job done. Unfortunately the lobby bar has limited hours. So if you're looking a late night in your hotel, last call was at 10:40pm

Hotel was good not great. Fire/smoke detector went off twice in one night. They said IF it did it a third time then conftact them. Strange. Didn’t have hot water. Signal in tv went out multiple times in one movie.

Room was lovely. We did not however like the building across the street. Very awkward to get around the hotel. We have stayed at the hotel several times, and this is the first time we were in the other building. Never again. The restaurant was ok, but lacked ambiance for dinner. Bright lights! Would have been nice to have tablecloths to make it different than for breakfast or lunch.

Your large lobby with the bar was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised with the live music every night. We especially enjoyed the mandolin player.

Room offered first was disappointing, it over looked a large trash container. Staff gave us a new room where we were awakened by the sound of loud hotel staff congregating outside our room at. 730 am as they began their work. Horrible stay.
