Loved the top floor unit. Great views and lots of space which included rooftop. Big bathrooms for both bedrooms and nice built in closets. Appreciated daily trash removal. Filtered water dispenser nice as well.

Great Place to Stay in Town....with a few wrinkles

We love El Faro! we have come before many times and we always have a great time here. It is situated steps from the 5th Avenue and our favorite places to eat. Once we get there, we do not need any transportation or anything. Everything we need is steps away including Starbucks! The pool has been resurfaced and is nice and well maintained and the wifi seems to be great compared to before. A few things make it a little rough if you are not prepared. First, the hot water is sparse and runs out fast. Second, EVERY unit we have stayed in has TERRIBLE mattresses. We all wake up hurting daily!! they really need to be upgraded. At night, the noise on the surf side can be really loud and keep light sleepers up, but we keep coming back and love it becasue the pool and location are awesome.

Wonderful clean quiet condo in the heart of Playa.

Fantastic location, steps to 5th ave and right on the beach. Pool is great and clean and the rooms are modern and clean. Nice kitchen, so you can have breakfast at your room. The only problem is that they have converted the hotel into a condo - just like many of the beachfront properties - so it's only available for rent on Expedia in low season (May-Oct) for somewhat reasonable price. The rest of the year it's either unavailable or was quoted to me by the condo management at Manhattan rates - for real ? -:) Otherwise the best place to stay if you want to be in town and on the beach.

Would never recommend the El Faro to no one

1)Phone did not work in room 2) No cable for TV for 3 days as owner apparently does not pay his bills 3) no dining or restaurant (closed)?? 4) Pool was filthy and freezing 5) no chairs at pool and when you could find one it was completely old, dirty and uncomfortable 6) apparently the el faro will let anyone stay as guest above us where out of control, up till 5 to 6 in morning blaring music, beating on guests doors awaking us, then complaining to staff and nothing was done about it. I have more but I will not waste anymore time concerning my wife's and my self's vacation because our vacation was completely ruined. I have used Expedia in the past but we have decided that we will never use Expedia again to book a vacation or flights.
