We always stay in the Lonsdale Quay when we visit Vancouver. I love the location and especially love the market on the main floor. The waterfront is beautiful. This year there was a Christmas market which was so festive. There is the extra trip on the Seabus to get there, but it is totally worth it.

Our experience at the coast Lonsdale was poor not because the hotel is bad, it was due to poor or false advertising. I’m not sure if it is a problem at the hotel or at Expedia, but the hotel has 4 different types of rooms due to its location and the way it’s situated. The hotel occupies level 3+4 above the Lonsdale Quay Market right on the water across from downtown Vancouver. There are a few rooms at the waterfront facing downtown. They are called premium King rooms and clearly show pictures of downtown across the water straight out of your room window. On the 4. floor there are also Premium King patio rooms that are along the west side with the claim of water view, which is true from the balcony leaning out. On the east side there are also water view rooms on both levels but the view is of the Shipyard and downtown East side. And the 4. are rooms on the 3. Level facing the market inside. We specifically reserved and paid for the Premium King facing downtown across the Water for the spectacular view on New Years Eve. Unfortunately we got a balcony room way back on the west side looking at ugly dirty roofs. For our second night we got an “upgrade” to the east side looking at the Seaspan shipyard. At least we had some water view but couldn’t see the downtown core even if we leaned out of the window. A far cry from what was advertised or even promised at the front desk. The guy there made it sound like he was giving us the best room in the hotel. SAD! WifesXmas present

The room looked like it was used only when the hotel was fully booked - no bedskirt, no view to speak of, heater was noisy. Granted, we did book late, with our pet, and we realize the hotel recently changed hands, so maybe im being overly critical

The hotel is pretty tired rooms not very cozy, plank floors, air and heat outdated and clunky to use. Staff were excellent, could be better signage for parking and fee for parking should be included in the steep room rate. Requiring a $100 deposit and keeping it for for 24-48 hrs, wow they must have lots of Vandalism. Too bad as the location is lovely

They forgot to advise us that was a self checkout. We were on a rush in the morning around 7:30 and we had to wait for more than 10 min by the counter and nobody show up. We ended just leaving the key by the desk, since we were worried we will miss our ferry if we keep waiting for someone to show up.

It has a beautiful ocean view scenic and prettier at night time because of Christmas lights. The room was spacious and clean and easy access to market. The only downside was.. pillows were not comfortable and you can hear the sounds of rain dripping by the glass roof from our balcony. But overall, it’s a nice stay!
