The Midland is a beautiful establishment in a great location, and the staff was kind and welcoming. We understand it was Valentine’s weekend and the hotel was very busy, which may have contributed to some of the issues during our stay. However, there were a few concerns. The lobby had a noticeable smell of marijuana upon arrival. The nearby parking structure was not suitable for larger vehicles the clearance was too low for our truck and we unfortunately scraped the top before being able to exit. Our room was also uncomfortably warm. We set the thermostat to 65°F, but the temperature remained between 75–80°F throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. It seemed the thermostat was not functioning properly. Additionally, there were visible scuffs and markings on the walls, and the bedding did not feel fully presentable. The bed only had sheets covering it, and the comforter appeared to have stains. Overall, while the hotel itself is beautiful and the staff was pleasant, the stay did not fully meet expectations.

Room was in okay condition. The mini fridge didn’t work so it had a weird smell. The lighting is very dark and not much surface area for shower items. There was no fitted sheet on the mattress. Bed was more comfortable compared to higher end hotels I have stayed at in the area during the year.
